Dinosaur Planet would have been an OK game, without the Starfox tie in. The shoe-horning detracts from the game a bit, but overall, I still find it far more enjoyable than the abomination that is Command, albeit a little out of touch with the rest of the franchise.

I'd say they're art in the way movies are. You have your big AAA/Blockbuster titles that aren't as artsy and are designed to make the most possible money, but there are also smaller titles, that often make less, but most certainly qualify as "art".
I tend to go in cycles of having too many games stacked up, and then none at all once I finish them. I'm currently at the point where I've bought all of the games that I really want, and now it's finally time to enjoy them.
