    Best driving game ever

Never saw it, my apologies. ;-) Agree with you about GPL, people still make great mods for that game which is, iirc, how SimBin started off, wasn't it? ;-\

    Best driving game ever

Colin McRae Rally series prior to the DIRT game were brilliantly good. Nothing beats going down a British country road that is only just wide enough to house your car whilst you're charging down this road in, preferably, your Subaru Impreza at 100mph. But that's just me and my rallying...

    Yahtzee - Untouched Franchises

Die-nasty, iirc matey. ;-) Something away from FPS as I feel this genre is getting old and I find Yahtzee can make his life easier through complaining about how similar most games are in the FPS market these days when there are much more interesting genres out there to make fun as. Like, as...

What to look forward to in 2009?

Being a big fan of the motorsport genre of gaming, I'm looking forward to two Codemasters releases of Formula One 2009 and Colin McRae: DiRT 2. First, after playing GRID rather extensively I think F1'09 will be a good game although I do worry that if they handle like they did on Race Driver 3...

    Books to games

Fair point. Although I have had several bad experiences with certain games that are based on novels but, like you've said, it's probably just a taste of the bad side of what possibly is a good idea. Note I say "possibly" for said reason of a lack of playing a decent novel based game in my...

    Books to games

I don't really like the idea of making a game from a book. Mainly because I like a game which gives me an amount of freedom to do a bit of "Sandbox"-ing whilst being able to continue the storyline, like GTA:IV did. Books into games just makes a rather linear game where the player can't do...

Poll: How long (on average) do you spend on computers?

2-4 Hours, although I like to think I get a fair bit done in, looking at the poll as it stands now, a comparatively short space of time... ;-)

Alas, Guitar Hero 4 or Rock Band 2?

Interesting idea. As for me, due to lack of space where the 360 is - Only my PS2 actually has any space spare for any large new controllers being used for it. And since, iirc, on GH:WT has a PS2 format for the game I've gone with that one. :-)

Is voice acting a must in story driven games?

I don't think it really matters. iirc, the first few Monkey Island games were text-based in terms of dialogue, no? And those were great games in terms of storyline. If I'm honest and like some other people who've posted in this topic, a great storyline must first get a great writer first to...

    Poll: WW2 games.

It's very close to being "burnt out" if not already turned into ash in terms of the flames of interest of WW2 as a gaming plot/theme. Perhaps being a bit more original with the war idea would be a good bet, but looking at the options there isn't really anywhere one could have a look at...

Poll: How did you find the Escapist?

Simply because of Zero Punctuation. Although I do enjoy a bit of Unforgotten Realms as well since joining! :-D

    The Xbox Screwed Me Over!

Indeed. Or perhaps it's just your fault for forgetting to sign in, eh? ;-) Anyway, The Rusk makes a good point that perhaps you should consider using the auto-sign in feature: Found on the Profile menu, iirc...

    Zero Punctuation: Sonic Unleashed

Never really been fond of the Sonic series, myself. Then again, the only Nintendo series I ever actually liked was the Pokemon series. Even then, I think that series has been over used. I mean, when you get to 493 different Pokemon then you know your on the edge if not already passed the point...

Which media player do you use?

WMP because I'm used to it. ;-) Although I do with my Sandisk Sansa for music listening on the go. :-D

    Spore on Steam?

Well, I wouldn't mind either way. The one thing I find annoying is purely the fact that it takes ages to patch the game. Granted, it's the biggest game in terms of disk space on my laptop, but it still shouldn't take half a bloody hour to patch the game! So if Steam can possibly quicken, if such...
