No love for John Marston yet? He's one of the most fleshed out and interesting characters around.
Genuinely likeable and badass at the same time, he really had amazing character development throughout the game.
I have mixed feelings on the new guy. He is certainly denerdified and you are right that's part of Parker. But he does pull of the wisecracking, joke slinging spider man really well. Better than the first spidey.
That could mostly be writing though.
You monster. Why would you make me chose between those!
OT long post: I think you are right. I've always been a Simpsons fan(yes, all seasons) and I think it has something that it shares with Futurama that most other comedy shows don't have. Namely, a highbrow mode of comedy. Very rarely do...

This is an article on it, but I can't seem to find the actual video. It was pretty old.

In what ways does gaming affect your day-to-day life? It's something that I consistently do everyday. Even my other hobbies don't get attention every single day.
How do you think gaming fits into society? In a much larger way than most of the populace realizes. It's a huge industry that is...
Pun intended or not, that still made me laugh pretty hard.
As for the topic, it's normal to like that. It's normal to like anything(almost). I guess I would say that's the beauty of the human condition. That we all have different likes and dislikes but it's totally cool(most of the time).
I fall into that once or twice group. I think a lot of people are discouraged by the difficulty the role playing will entail. You have to make sure you stick by the rigid guidelines or you could lose your powers and end up just a fighter.
Also I believe most people want to be Han Solo more or...
