Trailers: Dead Rising 2: Off The Record - Trailer

Watching "Chuck Greene" with his longer beard and carrying a fake doll dressed like Katey is horrifying in its own unique way.

Poll: Do you scream when you are scared/surprised?

Several years of "hypermacho" conditioning has turned the effete "nyearah" into something closer to a roar or battle cry(still sounds somewhat close to a growling scream), followed by throwing jabs into whatever surprised me. The worst result is that I once gave a friend a bloody nose.

most FUN FPS's of this generation....

I'm voting for TF2. After several years and almost 2000 hours devoted to the game, I have to say, it's the closest thing I've ever had to a perfect multiplayer experience.

Extra Punctuation: Game Stories Demand Focus

I seem to remember LEGO Indiana Jones implementing the phobia bit. Like obviously snakes would show up a lot or insects or whatever characters you were forced to use were afraid of, and one of the puzzles you'd have to solve involved figuring out a way to disperse the snakes.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Brings Anti-Terrorism Back to PC and Consoles

I just hope they don't force "aiming down the sights" for all guns as a "modernization" It's irrelevant when you have an opaque crosshair. I don't need sights to verify what I decided to center my screen on. I'm also a bit concerned about the rumored "5 v. 5" thing from the ESEA report. I...

Worst game PURCHASE you ever made.

Bulletstorm. Not a bad game, no, a very well-made and polished one, but I wasn't really getting much more than a few playthroughs of the campaign out of it, considering the clusterf-ck that is multiplayer.

Valve Comics Compendium Revealed By Dark Horse

I'm wondering, and hoping, that this isn't just a hardcover collection of the pre-existing comics that already exist online. Now while I don't know off the top of my head, the Portal 2, L4D/2 and TF2 update comics(War update, Sniper/Spy, Engineer, Saxton Hales, Mac Update, Director) could likely...

Poll: Duke Nukem Forever: Does anyone still care?

Frankly, I would've said no up until I started seeing what the fine people at Gearbox started bringing to my attention. FPS's started a lot of practices that frankly hurt the genre in the long run. Barely interactive environments and extreme linearity. I mean, DNF's probably not gonna be...

Poll: Should the Call of duty series stop releasing campaigns.

See, maybe a year or two ago I might've agreed with you, but Black Ops proved that the single player campaign can really be the highlight if it's carefully and cleverly crafted. Hell, add a scaling co-op(preferably just make every other player besides Player 1/Host just some generic soldier to...

    "Science" Fiction

I'm much more fond of the period of science fiction mostly dominated by the light-to-medium sci-fi writers, you know, Asimov, Bradbury, more dealing with issues of society in a unique way. 'Course, not to say I'm some pretentious and obnoxious purist who holds disdain for anything that hasn't...

Poll: Horror games: lights on or off?

I keep the lights on, but mostly because it sometimes irritates my eyes. 'Course, when I'm using a good, modern television and playing something real atmospheric, I'll be keeping the lights off, just to enhance the mood.

    Video Game Protagonists you hate

Nathan Drake, for how incredibly smug he can be at times. All of Noble Team, minus the one with the skull on his helmet for being the least groan-inducing. I'd say Master Chief too but he's sort of benign, not really likable but nothing really hateable(?), he just sort of exists. That...

Nominees for Game of the Year

See, I was all ready, as soon as I could confirm that Red Dead Redemption was a nominee, to come in here and declare that I hope it becomes Game of the Year. And then upon finishing the list, I was reminded SMG2 came out this year. I am now conflicted.

    Help

I have to recommend Red Dead Redemption, preferably on the 360, if just to avoid those odd graphical issues I'm hearing about.

    Western RPG without violence?

Well, I mean, violence, yes. Conflict, no. Otherwise there'd be nothing interesting to do. The theoretical scenario would basically be a CYOA that totally avoids violence but introduces non-violent conflict like conflicts of interest or the game has you taking the role of a CEO or a...
