I fail to see how owing a cat could possibly be representative of sexual orientation. That said I don't like cats very much and I am not homosexual, but if I did like cats my sexual orientation would remain unchanged(OBVIOUSLY!).

Depends on what caused the riot, if it was just a needless display of aggression I would get the hell out of there. But if it was inspired by a civil rights issue or something of the like I would gladly get the shit beaten out of me, all the while shouting "FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!!"
