I'd say Demon's Souls as it's a great game in its own right - the combat, bosses, secrets, etc. But according to what you stipulated as more valuable to you - perhaps Darks Souls 2 would be a better starting off point. It runs better on PC than Dark Souls and you already enjoy the combat...

Seconding Little Big Planet 3. It's a fun, light-hearted game which emphasizes the cooperation part of coop games. There's also a lot of character customization, unlockables, and you can even create your own levels or play other player's creations. It's full of charm.

You can buy the original Persona game off PSN for Vita. I'm planning on getting a Vita too and that will be my first purchase. Other than that, I think most of the good games have already been mentioned.

Assuming you have a PS3 (with the mention of Journey), what about Demon's Souls? It's a PS3 title, it's excellent, and it's on sale right now. Maybe something to tide you over while you decide whether there's enough exclusives on PS4 to justify buying it.

I haven't had any problems signing into PS3 but the store can be a bit sluggish. I'm going to try the fix mentioned by Sniper Team 4. No issues with PS4, though.

I can't really agree on Wesker. I liked his style and, as stated above, he had presence. It was also interesting to watch his journey (starting in RE1) to becoming completely unhinged in RE5.

It's been refreshing to read more news stories about MS providing good things for their customers. I don't game on XBox but if I did, I would be immensely pleased with a port of Fallout 3. It would be a great way to pass the time until Fallout 4 drops.
