A lot of people are saying how incredibly superior an analogue stick is to WASD for movement. But this is only true if you get anything useful out of the gradations between going the fastest possible speed you can move and dead stop in terms of acceleration. In a shooter you always want to move...
I love how units have evolved due to the way people used to play e.g. Overlords can block expansion and help build by generating creep because they're the units Zerg scout with in the early game, Marines get a mid/late game buff with the shield etc. Can't wait.
Mirror's Edge- The time trial levels made me wish the whole game was a rooftop adaptation of Crazy Taxi. Would have been fun actually being a covert, courier utilizing la parkour instead of a talking head for a mediocre revolutionary plot. Also wished the damn online system actually worked.
UT/UT2k4 + Mods. Lots to choose from. Also various Battlefield based mods. Use bots.
Diablo II (hacked characters recommended).
Streetfighter IV (if you had a Wii I'd recommend Brawl).
Any seriously challenging/long but simple singleplayer game as a spectator sport. Braid and Spelunky works...
I'm actually pretty scared that L4D got a good review given how easy it would be to bash it and Yahtzee's general "I don't do multiplayer" stance. I guess he's ill.
