I'm a huge fan of the Doors, my dad used to always play their first album when I was a child so that's the one I'm most familiar with. Although my favorite album may be LA Woman.
Coincidentally Jim Morrison shares the same birthday as my roommate.
Mandela was a hero for human rights and probably the most important African in the century. He lived a life of sacrifice and hardship but also one of ultimate triumph. I have no doubts that his legacy will outshine most others in the coming years.
I haven't listened to more than one album from the year I think. It was Random Access Memories by Daft Punk. It was freaking awesome and this is coming from a classic rock guy.
So that album would be the only choice by default, although I'm sure it would make it anyway!
People definitely like to complain about being unhappy. Perhaps it has to do with knowing that other people share that complaint, linking people together....through misery. I don't have much to add on the comic movies section of you post.
This post did remind me of the chorus from the Nirvana...
Hey now it's not quite over yet. There could be even more action out there. Choosing a number one game of the year is kinda difficult with 125 teams in FBS and all that. I'll go with Stanford dominating #2 Oregon in Palo Alto becausse that is where my allegiance lies. I wish I was there for that...
So in your thread about how much you hate lists of overrated things you list some things you think are overrated? Well ok then...
In all seriousness those list are kind of annoying with their constant bashing of things many people like.
I didn't know his stuff very well. The only song of his I know well is Walk on the Wild which I think is a fantastic song and well ahead of its time.
Like I said I don't him or his music well, but I do know that he was great leader in the music scene and an important voice. It's sad to see...
This is in reply to a few people posting about Stanley Kubrick and his films. I chose not to snip because there is a lot of stuff that's already been covered. Fox12 brought up that Kubrick did a poor job adapting novels into films, and by some definitions that is completely true. From what I've...
It's hard man, I mean the thing is that it just kinda develops for many people organically. When you try to force it you feel really really strange and awkward. A lot of it comes down to your mindset, if you are honest about things I think people really respect that, trying to pretend you're a...
I think you're taking this the completely wrong way. Saying that they are two different forms of media and shouldn't mix is the exact wrong way to go about it. You brought up that books take days or weeks to enjoy and I think that's why people think that they're inherently better. Film is a...
A girl wanted to give you a blow job? On no I feel so bad for you....
On the real though, first times are like that. Although it wasn't actual sex. I think most people would still consider you a virgin if that was bothering you. I'd rather not be specific about my sex life even anonymously on...
I love both movies but it's not a real competition for me. Die Hard is one of the best films of the 80's but The Godfather is one of the best ever made. It elevated crime movies into the forefront of film as an art, previously only dominated by romance and noir type films.
I'd choose The...
I mean it's a colloquial term so the meaning is more flexible than most words.
The way I understood it is that a scrub is a player who is bad at the game despite the time he/she has put into it. A noob is bad because they are new, a scrub is bad even though they have been playing for a...
