The first game I remember loving is Contra. And it still holds up very well!

It's by far not my favorite game in the series, but I don't understand what the hate on the 2008 Prince Of Persia is all about. Sure, it was different, and the fighting system was clunky. But damn, it had a gorgeous art style, the platforming was really fun and it reminded me of simpler days...

Remove the Colossi from Shadow Of The Colossus and you have a beautiful world to explore. And nothing else.

I just played a really immersive game: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. A straightforward Third Person Shooter/Platformer, which, with its stunning use of graphics, sound and controls can truly make you believe you are living what you are seeing on the screen. I'm not kidding, that's what I feel...

Borderlands with all its DLCs is a really outstanding experience and even level grinding is fun. I just don't want it to end. :D

For me it was Contra on the NES. I was maybe 2 years old, I did not know what bullets were, I did not know what these things were that chased the character on the screen... And I didn't care. Because it was AWESOME anyway.

One band that was not an option in the poll, but is still incredible: Symphony X. Their blend of Progressive, Power and Symphonic Metal all completed by a gruffy classic rock vocalist a la Jorn Lande (Masterplan) or David Coverdale (Whitesnake) just makes for a unique listening experience...
