You're 100% correct, but no one can understand that

It doesn't matter. The motion of the wheels does not affect the motion of the plane. The conveyor can go at any speed and the wheels will simply match that speed. Imagine the plane just sitting on the conveyor belt with its wheels spinning but the plane not actually moving. This is because the...

You're 100% correct, but no one can understand that

The conveyor belt doesn't actually impede the forward motion of the plane. The conveyor belt could be going 100mph and the plane would remain stationary while its wheel spin at 100mph in freespin. As soon as the plane turns on its engines, the propulsion from the engines moves the plane forward...

You're 100% correct, but no one can understand that

I know, and that's exactly what I had been trying to explain to him but it seemed he was too stupid to grasp the concept.

You're 100% correct, but no one can understand that

Trying to explain to an idiot I work with that a plane on a conveyor belt will indeed take off.

Poll: How long will humans survive?

Entropy is not "inevitable," rather it is unpredictable. Our civilization's butterfly effect may dictate that we make some kind of leap in scientific discovery allowing us to populate other worlds, perpetuating our species; we may destroy ourselves in nuclear Armageddon; we may overpopulate...

Poll: Is being technologically illiterate an issue??

Being technologically illiterate at the current time is not a huge issue as far as living one's life goes, but you are missing out on an entire world of entertainment, media, and information. In the future as man becomes more reliant on technology, being unable to use it will become crippling.

Woes of Modern Warfare 2 Online...

Well not only do you actually get two stinger tubes per life, but that first missile doesn't actually hit, the Pave Low just dumped flares and you missed. If you and another person fire a stinger at it, one after the other (second stinger fires after the flares are useless) the chopper will die...

    Keyboard on consoles

Hahahaha really? You decided to troll and attempt to derail this thread because you think he was patronizing you, and best of all, you think tone is interpretable through text posts? The best way to deal with someone posting in a manner that "ruffles your feathers" is to click out of it and move...

Poll: Are manners an important thing to you?

While manners themselves are superfluous gestures, the effort required to extend courtesy and use manners is (I feel) a decent gauge of how much a person thinks of you. If someone can't even lift a pinky to show me some courtesy, then I know they don't care about me and I return the favor.

    What if Steam just... stopped.

I think if the world is in such shitty shape that Valve goes bankrupt or otherwise loses control of their servers, then we would all have bigger issues than simply losing our video games.

Man faces jail for handing in a gun.

The segregation laws were written down in black and white as well, do you also believe the African Americans of the civil rights movement deserved to be arrested? Just because something is a law does not mean it is just or applies to all situations. This is clearly a case where the man should...
