Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
Seems like there's a lot of stuff like this going around! Damn, I better check these games out then. But fair enough, I immediately rushed off proclaiming how original the idea was, seems the majority say it's not so much. Still though, I like the concept...
I just looked up Dead State, and I understand your point, that's something the whole gaming communities wanted for years! Ok so it seems a lot of people are saying they've seen Republique-style gameplay before, which is interesting as it seemed entirely new to me, which is why I was so...
Republique was just announced for Mac and PC. Also I wasn't aware it had been done before-could you let me know the name of the game if you remember? It seems like an intriguing idea to me.
So I just discovered a game on kickstarter: Republique.

After watching the video, I'm shocked that this game isn't getting the funding it needs, and will probably crash and burn. It looks stunning. With 13 days to...
It really sucks that so many people got laid off. As someone currently striving against the odds to find a job I highly sympathise, and wish them the best of luck finding something else.
That said, from a purely consumer point of view I'm actually more excited about this. MMOs have never been...
ditto minecraft. i completely failed to see the appeal, and only bought it to see what the fuss was about, figuring that if I didnt like it at least the money was going to an indie developer.
My god. Biggest timesink ever.
It'll be shame to see you go Russ, but you can be proud as f#*k of what you've accomplished. Thank you for helping make the escapist into something amazing!
Ahhhhhh left 4 dead glitches. Personally I managed to complete all the expert campaigns legitimately (I have VERY good friends), but resorted to the finale glitch for my very last achievement, the one requiring a full campaign runthrough without a single zombie touching you.
EDIT oops...
Brilliant article, had me gripped! I love the challenge minecraft's monsters represent. To me there's only one thing more exciting in-game than a glimpse of diamond ore: A vast new cave system full of enemies, waiting to be tamed and mined, one hastily torched-and walled-off chamber by another...
Not the way you defined it. This isnt a random hookup, the girl I'm "with" at the moment, we were friends before and we're still friends, and we have an implicit agreement between us. She's not a booty call. I dont just phone her and chance my luck when I get bored.
Let's say 'friends with...
Maybe Justice was gay
EDIT: Wait, by companion did you mean Justice? I assumed you meant the warden. Damn, pre-empted.
But seriously, I'm all with David Gaider on this one. Just to say one gay character can be pushy is NOT saying that all homosexuals are pushy. Bioware has always excelled...
Descents amazing, I got a hold of 1 and 2 on playstation recently as part of a nostalgia binge (see also: Rayman 1), and have said pulsing electronic soundtrack on my ipod. I made a friend play it and he got motion sickness.
That's a really good movie, but I think the final shot ruined it a bit. Up until then it was genuinely heartbreaking. The last shot was just a bit too shlocky. Top notch technically though, it looked amazing for such a small project!
