Another really good tip for defenders is to defoliate! Grab a fixed MG and shoot in bursts 4-5 shots at the base of trees. You can clear big patches of forest/jungle quickly this way and create a killing field which the attackers must move across. Take out a couple of trees, scan for enemies...
