Prince of Persia, the first one. Playable game, even for an amateur, fun platforming, real dynamic characters, and a bit of combat, even if it was unrefined. Or Portal for laughs and easy mechanics that you can use in fun ways. Hell, just go for the whole Orange Box and get a little bit of everything, a shooter, an online FPS, and a great puzzler.
How was the very first Prince of Persia playable for an amateur? You ARE referring to the 2D timed one, right? Unless you mean the first Sands of Time one...
I would say something like Parappa the Rapper, Elite Beat Agents, or Phoenix Wright. Controlling an avatar on its own is quite a challenge to a beginner (up is up? Down is....WOOOOOAH, hold on...) so I'd think a nice, simple decision-based game would do it, or one of the first two which is just following inputs.

Personally i would pick Super Mario Bros. because it's the most important game in history (i would maybe choose "Pong" but it's a little bit too premitive).

Are you high ??? Comparing a book to a video game...seriously stop putting video games on such HUGE piedestals. You need to get out of your basement, go to your local library and read a little bit before you say such stupid things.

i spoke out of turn, i didn't mean to compare them because you can't compare them they are different. I was just trying to justify ther reasons for givinf osmeone the game and the reasoning behind it like using book hooks and the same premise's as their favourite books to draw them into the media, thats all i meant i am currently enjoying the video game media more than books ATM. recently playing through the mass effect series has been better for me than reading the prachett novels it's just my opinion. but like i just said comparing them is something i shouldn't of done. like comparing football players to basketball players.The Floating Nose said:
