i recently read a news story on two girls that were sent home for wearing a shirt that said "islam is of the devil". now when questioned about why they wore it the ten year old responded "i thought it would give people a chance to change in reality in what they think of god and what they think of islam" the 15 year old responded "becuase my generation needs to wake up and change the nation or else we wont have a permanent future and we wont have a future thats not worth fighting for if we dont fight for it now".

their father made them these shirts and he was there when they said this. now does anyone else think that dosn't sound like what a 10 and 15 year old would say? i think they are being brainwashed into thinking the wrong things by their overdevout father. tell me what you think down below.

EDIT: sorry i have a link now, also i titled it "the wrong things" to catch peoples attention

Well a link would be nice. But if this is true, and if it did go down as you say (which is assuming a lot), then i'd say he's using his kids as billboards and he should be punched in the face.

Edit: Yes, punch to the face, daily, doctors orders.

A link would be nice, however only with what you have wrote I'd assume that the Father is being either overpowering with his own beliefs, but what can you do?

Excuse me, I have to work on my knitting skills.

I agree with the school. Although they have their rights to their opinion, it is the school's job to keep the right information around, and give the kids an objective learning system. It probably won't, but things like that might influence other kids and make them think that Islam is evil.

To be honest, if I were those kids, I would just be glad I got the day off school...
So would I, although in my old school I'd just be forced to turn the shirt inside out or wear my gym uniform. It wasn't fair at all.

The wrong things. If you don't get the phrase right, then you don't get the day off school.

I am presuming this is in America, and I am presuming freedom of speech covers this. There is however, no reference or link; and you seem to have assumed their father (why not their mother?) put them up to this.

If it promotes discussion on the nature of Islam, a culture and its place in society, it is of benefit to public life.

Day off school. RESULT!

But yes, it does sound a little like their father is living through them as some kind of anti Islam demagogue, spreading his tendrils outwards to further poison the minds of vulnerable kiddies.

That word isn't used enough, so here it is again. Demagogue. :D

I'm not sure if I can trust you since you are new and don't have a link.

Assuming you are right:
If they weren't sent home I'd charge the school with creating a hostile environment.

If they had worn shirts that expressed the opposite viewpoint, I suspect it wouldn't have been as big a problem - depending on where they live.
Opposite viewpoint? Complementing Islam?

Okay, thank you.

there's no way those kids had that mindset. I think that their dad said, "wear this, and if they say something, say this and you'll get out of school for a day" so they where more than willing to do it.
