Ugh I hate when people do stupid things and blame it on "changing the nation."

I think someone needs to look in mirror. I wonder if this family's aware that they're on the fast track to becoming the very thing they're fighting against.
This sums it up perfectly I believe

1. Stupid closed minded t-shirts that were only made because of a few extremist muslims.
2. Who tf cares, they are 10 and 15, if every kid in the school wore them, it would be newsworthy, but that wasn't the case

i recently read a news story on two girls that were sent home for wearing a shirt that said "islam is of the devil". now when questioned about why they wore it the ten year old responded "i thought it would give people a chance to change in reality in what they think of god and what they think of islam" the 15 year old responded "becuase my generation needs to wake up and change the nation or else we wont have a permanent future and we wont have a future thats not worth fighting for if we dont fight for it now".

their father made them these shirts and he was there when they said this. now does anyone else think that dosn't sound like what a 10 and 15 year old would say? i think they are being brainwashed into thinking the wrong things by their overdevout father. tell me what you think down below.

EDIT: sorry i have a link now

If they were Aetheists wearing shirts saying, "Christianity is a lie" would anyone care? No. It's only because it's Christians wearing shirts advocating their faith that you do care.

I have a copy of the Pinellas County (I live in St. Pete Florida) code of conduct here. It doesn't say anything against this, although it is against conduct to wear anything that could disrupt school activity...so I think that just might happen. Yes I know this is in Gainsville but I think other counties have similar policies.
Why do you have that? Do you go to school there or just collect them or have a magic bag of convenient things or something?

a father using his own children a platform for his views on religion? This sounds familiar...

Islamophobia is part of Christian faith?

3 things:
1. i hate it when adult use their own beliefs to put other people down, it makes it worse to use your kids to do such a thing. this is a growing trend though, i see it all the time where i live. all i have to say is just try to keep Separation of Church and State (and skate).

2. the kids are kinda brain washed. kids normally take their parents beliefs and use them as their own (well most kids do, or they just rebel and do the opposite). but i defiantly think they have been pushed into a very dark and bad place by their father.

3. they way my teachers put it is this... while you are at school you have basically no rights. You cant wear anything that can offend anyone, or have anything violent or drug related issues on it. You cannot under any surcomstances curse or make a verbal threat to anyone. its that simple. personally i believe school should be separated from church, but that seems to be an unfavorable thing here in Kansas...

she also said about her generation needs to wake up? thats my generation! most of us are open minded and dont care and if you knew your history, you would know that Islam originally taught people to be tolerant of other religions

at my school though you would just have to wear the shirt inside out and stay in school.

BTW: i liked the video, im not much of a news guy but, they actually said somethings i liked and agreed with

Because its offencive. If I said "christianity promotes cancer" or "atheists all have aids" it would be no different than her saying "islam is of the devil"

Islamists believe Christianity is a lie, and therefore a threat to the one true belief, Christians believe Islam is a lie, and therefore a threat to the one true belief, and Aethists believe both is a lie, and a threat to the one true belief(That God does not exist.)

The T-shirt didn't say, "Muslims should be killed." It said, "Islam is of the Devil," Which is basically what every religion believes about every other religion-that every other religion is a lie which keeps people from the truth.

Edit: And as I said earlier, if someone walked into school wearing a T-Shirt that said, "Christianity is a lie," nobody would care.

While I don't agree with him. And the kids should have been sent home...

What happened to that free speech we're all high and mighty for?

actually they would have to care, even in small town/rural schools, its government/school board mandated dress code. thats why if that or any other offensive shirts are ignored the school should undergo punishment, or at least the child should.

Getting booted out of school for a day for wearing an offensive shirt isn't uncommon. I know that this story has a religious and brainwashing angle, but that's what this boils down to. Back when I was in high school (Woo! Vincent Massey badminton rules!), some kid got punted out for wearing a shirt with a bloody hammer on it and a quote along the lines of "for those who don't shut up". I can't remember exactly what was written on it but it was something along those lines.

...Wait, it just came to me. It said "She had it coming". Offensive or not, I loved that shirt.

I was under the impression it was illegal for students to be sent home for wearing certain articles of clothing.
