I think we need a little less offensive free speech and a little more intelligent speech.

That would solve a few problems with idiots running around being racist for no good reason other than, "But I thoughts theys were evil!".

Oh how wrong you are. Anyone under the age of 18 in america has no freedoms, the Zero tolerance policy will see to that. Comeing from one who himself was figuritively sodomized by that policy I'll tell you, we treat our schools like prisons. College is much better if you advoid the "diversity" campuses. It's weird when you think of it, grade school is horribly right wing, and college is horribly left wing. No wonder kids are so fucked up these days @_@.

But yes, I see these girls doing this for some reasons.

1. Their parents are forceful anti-islam idiots.
2. They want to troll irl, hur flamewarz!
3. day off from school!!!

I am interested to learn why you think grade school is right wing.
Zero Tolerance Policy. Go against this just a little bit, even if it's not true equals supension or explusions. The policy itself has some right wing bullshit in it.
Most of the time Zero Tolerance applies to weapons and drugs though, not really this type of offense. I ask because, in general, ALL public education leans to the left somewhat. I'm still confused as to how such a policy gets divided into right and left wing.
Have you read the policy? I suggest you do if you haven't. Last time I checked it, it does contain some things that are a bit too conservative.

And trust me, it's way more then just drugs and weapons. The reason you don't hear any of the other things is because they're not "news worthy". *mumbles* I sware the news isn't "news worthy" *mumbles*
Yes, I've read it, I'm a teacher, I need to know these rules. But which particular zero tolerance policy you're talking about is something I don't get. These policies differ wildly between school districts, and are set up by the school board.

For the record, I don't agree with zero tolerance (a fork isn't a weapon), but are you saying that these children are the victim of a zero tolerance policy involving their clothing? I'm probably not going to trust you until you can actually SHOW me something that shows what you are talking about.
I don't agree with zero tolerance policy either. having to take responsibility for someone else's actions in middle school cause of it, i've never liked it. I got suspended for not only MY actions but two other boys as well. You want to talk not fair here.....

on topic

i hate parents who go to extremes with their views. especially when they use their kids to broadcast said views. i think kids should be given facts and let choose for themselves.

Also,

"The Dove center has come under fire already for posting a sign with the same message, which it says will help "expose" Islam as "a violent and oppressive religion" that is trying to deceive and destroy society."

I think someone needs to do their religion homework and actually LEARN what the religion is about. I've skimmed over the basics of it for a class and KNOW that is wrong. Islam is not a violent and oppressive religion that is trying to deceive and destroy society. Well, maybe a little oppressive with females especially but what religion isn't to one degree or another? I am going to go and find my World Religions book and re-read it......wait....Taoism doesn't if I remember correctly, that and Buddhism.

it just sounds like just a couple children mindlessly parroting the ideals of their parents and a closed minded father using his children to draw attention to his opinions

"islam is of the devil" could hardly be called a discussion starter. and besides, islam itself contains no bad teachings: they believe in peace, respect, and all that good stuff. it's only a certain well-known group that twists its beliefs for violence. saying islam is of the devil is just like calling obama or bush hitler...it's not backed by any rational thinking...which can start a very comical aurgument, but by no means would it be a true discussion

Hell no they don't think that there just brain washed by there father... they probably don't know what there saying and what does saying islam is of the devil have to do with protecting the future all it is saying is they don't agree with a religon and they're neglecting religous understanding which is the only way to perserve the future(promoting understanding of other people I mean) so what they're actually doing is turning people into racist violent bastards whch can't accept anything they don't understand or they don't wanna make sense of so what they're actually doing is destroying the future by promoting the fact that anything and every thing they do not like is wrong and should be punished for it... they're dad is the worst he's forcing his beliefs on to his children and having them fight his battles of a cause that which can in noway be just or admirable in the slightest... though I suppose the children are bad too for following a belief that they themselves cannot justify or even explain...

I have a copy of the Pinellas County (I live in St. Pete Florida) code of conduct here. It doesn't say anything against this, although it is against conduct to wear anything that could disrupt school activity...so I think that just might happen. Yes I know this is in Gainsville but I think other counties have similar policies.
Why do you have that? Do you go to school there or just collect them or have a magic bag of convenient things or something?
Sorry man, I think I forgot to say I go to High School here. :/

That father is obviously telling them to do that. Religion should not be forced on people. It drives people away. If you really want people to convert to your religion, be nice about it. Threatening and insulting others won't get you anywhere.

1. All religion is a feeble attempt to explain the unexplained to comfort the sheeple who can't face their own mortality.
2. All religions preach tolerance but none of them practice it.
3. My school has a dress code (Collared shirt, tucked in) I WISH I could wear a normal rascist shirt.

I am offended by all the people in this thread saying "anti-islam idiots"

I am anti-islam, and i am certainly no idiot. There are many things that are offensive to me and my culture in the way that modern day islam is carried out. Unfortunately, my views are taboo and wrong because people always point to a tiny minority of muslims and say that this is how the religion and culture actually works, when really, their example has been so westernized that any shred of fucked-up islam in them is gone.

i recently read a news story on two girls that were sent home for wearing a shirt that said "islam is of the devil". now when questioned about why they wore it the ten year old responded "i thought it would give people a chance to change in reality in what they think of god and what they think of islam" the 15 year old responded "becuase my generation needs to wake up and change the nation or else we wont have a permanent future and we wont have a future thats not worth fighting for if we dont fight for it now".

their father made them these shirts and he was there when they said this. now does anyone else think that dosn't sound like what a 10 and 15 year old would say? i think they are being brainwashed into thinking the wrong things by their overdevout father. tell me what you think down below.

get your facts right. the parents where called in with the option of bringing a change of clothes for them but they chose instead to take the kids home.
