10 games that "should" be movies

I like the idea of using Jake Gyllenhaal as Jack in Bioshock.

If they can give a Bioshock movie a sort of Saw feel, but still having varied colors, and if they can make the Big Daddies without any CG (you know they want to), then you got a movie!

What do you think of Johnny Depp playing Frank Fontaine(Atlas) in a Bioshock movie?
I can just imagine that cruel smile saying "Would you kindly..."

I know this is kind of useless, and stupid, but a God of War CG movie? Maybe a prequel about his life as a normal warrior, well, as normal as Kratos can get...

One game I think would be cool as a movie (and actually good) is Second Sight. Maybe that's what they need to do; go with games that weren't big hits.

I would stay at the one area in the mountains, and just pick off guys. Lifting them up and shoot them, then steal their guns. I went on like that for days... I don't know many other people who have played that game. Very nice plot twist, although I saw it coming. Probably would make a good psych-thriller/action-mystery.

Hey, I'm just waiting for a Metroid game in general. If they do make them, I'll be waiting for Metroid Prime 1 & 3.

Not much of a Zelda fan, but hey, to each their own....

Wait, what? Have you only played MP2? If you have, they're releasing all three games on a single disk with MP3 style controls for MP1/2.

Personally, I think Metroid lends itself to movies better than most other games because there isn't some long convoluted plot to squeeze in. It's kind of structured like Aliens, where the protagonist lands, explore for a bit, shit gets real, then they fight with a giant alien. Since you don't have to squeeze in a bunch of characters, you can just have Samus shooting space pirates while she collects stuff, then fights Ridley and Mother Brain.

As long as they don't give her a random, pointless love interest, you could have a pretty good action movie.

Silly Random, every movie has to have a stapled on romance sub-plot to even count -admonishes-
extra points for the director if they manage to shove in a SamusXRiley romance

Also, the Halo movie that was planned would have been interesting if it wasn't scrapped.

If they start it again, I have the perfect ending... The Master Chief takes off his helmet and it is Chuck Norris... I'm not a huge fan of Halo or Chuck Norris, but if they did that, it would make the entire Halo series into a huge joke and then it would be amazing...

That would be AWESOME! Although there's no way in hell they would do that. Fans would be so pissed. I'm not a Halo fan, but I would pay for the entire movie, just to see that!

They should try and make Chrono Trigger an anime series. They probably can from all those cutscenes too. (I think there's too much story for just a movie).

Thry should have a Sim City movie. start it with just a small group of characters who set off to make their own villege. Then as the movie continues, watch the town expand from a peacful town to a corrupt metropolis. And finnally when things can't get any worse...GIANT MONSTER ATTACK! It destroys the entire city leaving only ashes. And the origonal founders look back. and try it again.

The video game and movie industries need to stay away from each other. One or the other almost always messes the other one up. With few exceptions this has almost never been done right. To me they lost their chances to cross over like that long ago.

I think they are fine with their own ideas they don't need to ruin the other genre and itself.

Absolutely. We need another horror/action film like Aliens. I've had enough of horror movies about running away or hiding, just shoot something for once!

They attempted to do a Final Fantasy movie all in CG but it was a box-office bomb, even though i thought it was a really good movie

I would go with...None of that list. Seriously. Why BioShock? The movie that is apparently in the works doesn't need to be made, a film is not a good way of digging into a story of that sort. I mean, the story itself was kind of cool, I guess, but you have to admit that a lot of the best story elements were the tape things, going into the history of Rapture. That was its strongest points, and film is not a good medium for showing that.
