I just recently found out about Symphony X after hearing The Odyssey on an internet radio station actually. I'm simply surprised that there's a Symphonic Metal band from America.aruseusx said:Ahh another Symphony X fan. I'm not a Nightwish fan though.Aby_Z said:Snippin' my own post...

Heard about them through ear at school from a friend. Love their bassist.Aby_Z said:I just recently found out about Symphony X after hearing The Odyssey on an internet radio station actually. Gee, thanks for providing a list of songs you already know so that you don't get flooded with redundant recommendations. >_>God said:I need more, so please, Escapists, give me links to youtube or give me names, so that I may check out your recommendations.

There's also Atom Heart Mother Suite and Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, off the top of my head. I think A Saucerful of Secrets is 11 minutes or so, but I've never actually heard the song, so I don't know how good it is.SonicKoala said:Pink Floyd are the kings of writing long songs. These are my favourites:
Shine on you Crazy Diamond (there's two parts, part one is my favourite, but it's actually one 25 minute song)
Dogs
Pigs
Sheep(those 3 songs are all off the same album, "Animals", I highly recommend it)
And then, of course, there is "Echoes". At 23 minutes, I consider it to be Pink Floyd's greatest musical achievement; it's surreal. I'm actually going to go listen to it now!
