The strangely ironic thing here, earlier on I mean, when people who've been here for two weeks say "Badge matters". Well, doing this post-spam to increase your post count has got you probated, and you are no longer eligible for one of these rather awesome Matrix Badges.

Me? I have a high post count, one gained in a small period of time, but that's because I spend 39 hours a day on these forums, not because I do completely meaningless posts.

Do any of you think that I just zoomed up my post count for its own sake? (Actual question, and by god I hope not)

I remember your first 1000 posts being unreadable, purile nonsense with no thought towards subject matter or the humanity of others.

Therefore, I sentence you a life of self-imprisonment, and slight feelings of guilt whenever you think about replying to any forum topic.

why do people see post count as such an important thing?
it makes you no more smarter then someone with less posts, like the neoseeker forums, i have been a member there since september 2006, with a post count of 407, and I have never had a thread locked or a post deleted (unless I delete it myself after realising a mistake or error/fixing my problem) and yet there are people there with twice as many posts as me, but they spam a load of crap. Just looking at the bottem of the first page of this thread at superpandamans post, 789 posts - joined 10th of December 2008, yet he has been banned. I haven't seen why he was was banned but it just shows how far some people will go to get a measly number up, even if they are being totally ignorant of other people.

Or you could, you know, not be a post whore. I got my triple Gonzo by being an active member of the community, new people, there's no need to do any of these things. If you're genuinely interested in what goes on in these forums, you'll reach Gonzo easily.

Seriously I would prefer my post count to be locked at 3. So much cleaner and simpler to look at. A big number never entitled anyone anything in the real serious world of internets.

I agree, my post count makes me feel a little silly... and reminds me exactly how much time I spend on the forums here.

Post counts do matter. People with low post counts that claim "post counts don't matter" are simply jealous. People with Gonzo post counts that claim "post counts don't matter" are lying-- they know that they really do matter but want to call attention to themselves anyway because that's what being Gonzo is all about.
