I really doubt the guy did it for the sexual thrill. He probably just wanted to hurt the kid in a particularly shameful way.

So assuming I'm right, I support the 26 year old. Some kids need to learn when to shut up the hard way.

So when this guy screams "I'll shove this wiimote so far up your ass..." he really, really means it?

Seriously though, I don't know why everyone is so surprised. We here at the Escapist have seen time after time that there are some people who deserve to have their hands and/or their penises surgically removed so they can't get up to their old bullshit. This guy just takes it to a new twisted extreme. In fact, perhaps that should be the penalty for these kinds of things. I'd like to see him try this again with no fucking hands.

That was a wii bit of an overreaction from the 26 year old.

No seriously, that wasn't even remotely justified.
A 12 year old got raped... wanna shut up?
Don't see why that should cripple his sense of humour.
Having a sense of humour is not something that requires vocalising at every opportunity to prove it still exists, NOT making a joke about this kid being raped is not proof of a loss of sense of humour... its only proof of a lack of common decency.

Folks, just take a second to read the story now we've had a debate about it....

Investigators say Parry was at a house where four boys, ages 12 and 13, were having a sleepover.
So there were 4 of them. And none of them thought to help their "friend" out?

The act was witnessed by the other boys. The parents of the boy who was having the sleepover were asleep upstairs,
So not only am I expected to believe that 3 kids sat and watched their "friend" get a Wii remote introduced to him intimately but that the parents of one of the boys were also in the house and heard nothing.

Pretty sure, at the very least, one of the kids would have woke them up.

Parry allegedly confessed what he had done the next day to a neighbor who called police.
So not only did they not wake the parents or inform the police, i'm expected to believe he told a neighbour who then called the police.

I can get a faint odour of bullshit from this story.
Hm, if my limited (VERY limited knowledge, only did two years of it in High School) knowledge of Psychology tells me anything, it could have been the Bystander Effect...

Also, what makes me really concerned is why did the parents entrust a 26 year old to be around these kids if they even knew he drank beer?
Hey now, steady on... I enjoy the occasional beer but that doesn't mean I'm liable to sodomise children at the drop of a hat. I'd say that, if this story is true, the guy had deep-rooted anger management issues which would dwarf any drink problem he might have had.

But anyway, a lot of this story doesn't add up. How's this for a different take on it: Man plays Wii with kids, the kids p*ss him off, he takes it too far and back-hands one of them around the head. The next day the boys make up some outrageous story in revenge, and the tabloid media eats it up because sensationalism sells. Or is that too cynical of me?

People seariously need to accept that children can be a nuisance and move on. I know from experience hou grating children can be but that doesn't justify acts of aggression towards them. This latest incident coupled with the recent 'black ops beatdown' will give the exploitotive media a foot hold to one again link gamers with actual violence. People need to calm down right now. If you cant take some ribbing you should be nowhere near children or online gaming. Takes the piss how revolting humanity has become

Common decency over what? A press coverage of an ALLEGED sexual crime (he's still accused, not convicted despite what the Kotakidiots might mislead you to believe) involving a certain gaming console controler?Take your PC away from the thread, last time I checked the Internet had freedom of expression, and frankly,it IS funny from certain perspectives especially the "Shut up or I'll shove that Wiimote up your ass!" angle.

I also find the Dead Baby jokes funny.Unfortunately (for) you don't get to decide what other people find tasteful,or get to shut them up.

The guy was wrong in what he did and deserves to be locked up for a looooong time...........but WHAT did the kids expect? He is older, bigger, and stronger than you, if he wants he CAN rape you with a Wii remote if you piss him off.

When your winning in a game just be happy for your win and congratulate the other player. The perfect way to stop someone from finding you and beating you up or shoving wii motes inside of you.

It wasn't even that he was drunk, he was just a sick fucker! What was wrong with him, how could that possibly not be massively disproportionate retribution for being teased?

people saying either side was awesome for different reasons.
I don't think anyone anywhere would refer to a rapist as "awesome".

Having said that, mouthy pre-teens need to know when to shut the hell up and have some respect for their elders. Hopefully this is a lesson for everyone.
Since when is rape a good fucking lesson! Rape is not a suitable punishment for mouthing off! This isn't a good lesson for anyone! A man raped a child!

This whole situation is sick and wrong...
That poor child... I can't imagine what this will do to him...
Rape is indeed a horrible crime...BUT he probably will think twice before mouthing off.

Wow, you really dont like kids do you? Or you really like sex criminals...

The reason he was arrested is that HE confessed what he did, didnt you read the story?

And actually the very creation of "shut up" is for OTHERS to apply it to someone else and it is often other people who shut someone up, oh and are you confusing the internet with America? The First Ammendment doesnt apply, hence moderators. You can only interact with other people on forums through speech so CLEARLY the only reason for moderators is to keep the speech in check. He shoots, he scores.

...Yeah, there's a line to cross between scolding kids for teasing you and then using a Wii remote to rape a child, also mentally scaring him. Also, what makes me really concerned is why did the parents entrust a 26 year old to be around these kids if they even knew he drank beer? Can't make sense of this at all, not one bit.

... This is just upsetting, and very disturbing. The fact these adults are getting all emotionally butthurt over kids taunting to become so violent in the most wicked ways... is really questionable. You'd think the guys around ages of 26 and higher would laugh or least shrug it off. What the crap... do we not mature as we get older? I'll never know..
This. I wasn't going to comment here but after seeing the kind of stuff people are writing I feel I have to. It just feels so sinister to realise that some people can understand this guy's motivations, I get the feeling these are the people who are only a few steps below doing something like this themselves. To the people blaming a lack of "Respect for your elders" or "Kids these days" or anything like that, what the fuck? I can understand the concept of older people deserving more respect if we're talking truly old people who may have gained wisdom from a long life, but not a goddamn 26 year old, 60+ perhaps. Even then there are many under educated elderly people and just as many young people who are wise beyond their years.

What about adults these days?

Child: Teases man.

Man: Rams electrical appliance up child's arse.

Truly the youth of today are to blame.
