Good for the kid. I'm glad he was able to save his sister.

You mean he used common sense and attributed the skill to playing WoW? You're right, that is amazing! Good for him!

Hahaha moose attack. Of all the animals to attack her a bloody moose.

Anyway it has nothing to do with WoW, just common sense.

Should have had his sister attack it when it was distracted...

Moose drop good loot, or so I am told...

Nice...The "Intimidate, then feint" tactic. Usually works.

Animals don't like dead things for some reason (except maybe wolverines. Those bastards are vicious)

The Canadian loot dropper known as the Moose has struck again! And then.. was.. beaten by WoW?! No, impossible!

Good for the kid though, it appears video games can make up for a lack of youthful common sense, sometimes!

Edit: "Taunt" is also in every RPG game that uses skill tree's or likewise. I refuse to equate this to the monstrosity that is Wow!

Because all 12 year olds are pure idiots with absolutely no idea of how to do anything...

Some people mature or learn things faster or slower than other people. This kid's thought process was incredibly simple: Draw attention from the moose so that his sister can escape, then get rid of the moose himself. He 'taunted', which probably consisted of him flailing his arms, jumping, and yelling loudly. Then, he 'played dead', which he likely heard from the whole "If you're attacked by a bear, you should get in the fetal position and pretend to be dead" and just applied it to the moose. There's really nothing surprising here and it has nothing to do with WoW.

That's interesting and motivational. WoW teaches skills exactly like those of animals and nature, unlike others which make stuff up...

Nice story, thanks for the link.

Hans and his sister got into trouble after they had trespassed the territory of the moose during a walk in the forest near their home. When the moose attacked them, Hans knew the first thing he had to do was ?taunt' and provoke the animal so that it would leave his sister alone and she could run to safety. ?Taunting' is a move one uses in World of Warcraft to get monsters off of the less-well-armored team members.

Once Hans was a target, he remembered another skill he had picked up at level 30 in ?World of Warcraft' ? he feigned death. The moose lost interest in the inanimate boy and wandered off into the woods. When he was safely alone Hans ran back home to share his tale of video game-inspired survival.
It's easy to just say "oh, it's common sense" but this kid was TWELVE YEARS OLD. Since when do 12 year olds exercise common sense? Especially in a dangerous situation.

He said he knew what to do from WoW, why would he lie about that?

nor should he and his sister be walking alone in the woods.
Ehhr, why not? Seems like a healthy activity for kids to occupy their time with to me. Healthier than World of Warcraft at any rate.
