They ought to be glad that was not my daughter. If I found out my child was strip searched, oh hell they better have themselves a good lawyer and probably a good health insurance plan.

Wow, to think, a pubescent teenage girl has MOTRIN on her....
Why would a girl in the midst of puberty ever need a drug to help you cope with that.

MIND BOGGLING.

I don't care how much she had on her or why they felt it was necessary to search her... If that girl needed Motrin, BACK OFF.

I hope the family wins.

Was it even done by a woman police officer? If not that could also warrant a sexual assualt/abuse case.
Yes, because only men are capable of sexual abuse.

.....I asked that because it's only legal for a woman to perform a strip search on another female. If the woman did it to a man then it could also cause that case, but honestly what guy would care?

Its really quite simple.

striping a child in front of a group of men is totally fine as long as drugs have been taken or in the emidite vicinity and not at all fucked up and disgusting.

I've actually found a picture of one of the people that conducted the search.

He's clearly hispanic, but I know nothing of his background.

If you're inappropriately undressing a 13 year old kid, gender isn't a factor. Man or woman, you're a pervert.

....she could of said no? Sorta reminds me of that girl that was stripped down and several explicit things occurred due to a call from a irl troll. Though she was of age and only did it to keep her job....AT MCDONALDS.

I'm going to keep this story in my hip pocket for the next time my wife and I argue over whether we would ever send our kids to public school. I say we're not having kids until I can afford to put them through private schools where they'll get a better education and not have incompetent government employees doing shit like this to them.

Hmmmm... I can honestly say I've never heard of anything like that happening before. It seems like a major overreaction if I have ever heard one. My theory would be they thought the ibuprofen was an illicit drug which caused them to panic and conduct a hasty strip search without stopping to consider the consequences. It seems to be this was something done out of panic rather than logic, and the fallout from such a case might be quite interesting to observe.

If im honest, I think that if they had no authority to do the search, why did the girl do it?
Even at 13 most girls know their rights (at least in Britain, not sure anywhere else)
But i do have to admit that what was done was utterly weird...

While I agree the actions of the school were above and beyond what should have happened. The fact that it is before the Supreme Court is a good thing. The Applete Court (sp) already addressed this issue and said that the school was out of line and should not be allowed to do that. It is being addressed by the Supreme Court because the school refuses to admit they were wrong. In the end the school and people that conducted the illegal search should and probably will be punished for it.

A dirty word.

So fucking disgusting. I already rage when I see abuses of power.
we don't have the whole story yet,
she was in a middle school with undeclared prescription strength medications. Step back a moment and look. People were saying that she was distributing them and we done even have an official RECORD of the search happening so far its a mother and a daughter's word vs the state and several million dollars makes good motivation for an "enhanced" story.

Im waiting for the whole thing to come out
That's not what we're discussing here. It has nothing to do with justification. It has to do with legality and side effects.

Being stripped naked against your will and searched by people who have no authority to do so will FUCK SOMEONE UP psychologically.
and distributing painkillers to a bunch of 13 year old's WONT mess a kid up?
look, that has EVERYTHING to do with the story, we don't know the circumstances and in this country its innocent until proven guilty.and I don't think I need to warn anybody in here that the media has one goal (both sides) the best story makes the best money and there is no news like bad news.
its not fire aim ready its ready aim fire and you cant start making calls when you fog your mind with hate all of the time
That's irrelevant to the situation. Strip searching without a warrant goes against innocent until proven guilty, you know?
no, that goes in the evidence bin to go to court
You confuse me.

You seem to be on the laws side, but then completely go against The fourth amendment of the constitution [http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Am4].

Your logic(or lackthereof) confuses me.
she had drugs with intent to distribute, that's a reason, a damn good reason

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

What do police do right before they put the cuffs on you? They search you, they do that so you don't sneak anything back into prison like weapons, handcuff keys, DRUGS. that sort of thing, correct? (Y/N)
That girl had no reason to be carrying those drugs on her person, undeclared and unknown to the school nurse in a fucking middle school. She is being charged with intent to distribute, meaning she was not only carrying the drugs she was planning on SELLING them.
The warrant is for searching your house or your car (if its on your property)
The 4th amendment has nothing to do with this. get over it,
I also have reason to believe that this never even happened. Remember the Duke case about the sports team being charged with raping some black exotic dancer? CNN MSNBC NBC and every other major news corporation went ape shit along with Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. it turns out that there were no signs of rape, actually the DNA of any of the players was absent of the scene entirely, the exotic dancer wanted money
You'd be somewhat right (althouh strip searching a 13 year old is still wrong), but A: They had nothing other than hearsay to the fact that she had drugs and B:They found no drugs on her at all.

So basically, a girl said "Oh, she has ibuprofen", they stripped searched her, found nothing, and want to continue to do it. THEY ADMIT TO IT! Please read the article.

EDIT:Oh, and also, Fourth Amendment. I just wanted to address your factual errors.

She was 13. That's every kid's, let alone a girl just starting puberty's, worst nightmare, to be naked in school in front of authority figures. It'd lead to trust issues, at the very least.

I keep anti acids in my bag and my school principal thought i was doing drugs, i have sotmach acid problems like every other week, got it from my mom, and it was funny listening to the lectures on drugs, i was sitting giggling waiting for my turn to speak so i could tell them what they were
