I just heard about that today it's over all the news. That was terrible and the excuses the school made are just really bad lies they said she was a perfect student but it was a cover up she was really a drug dealer. THAT MAKES NO SENSE! This situation would be a little better if it were a failing student with a past record but not a goodie-too-shoes. Strip searching ....really they think kids these days are going to stuff drugs up their ass then eat it later.

Yeah, it's the new thing. You remember when they started dipping marijuana joints in embalming fluid? Well you ain't seen nothing yet. If you 'dip' ibuprofen in your anus before you consume it then you'll get a free trip to Woodstock.

Right? Right?

But Motrin is so useful! It cures headaches! Why would that be a bad thing that she was giving it away?
It also is anti-inflammatory. So incase you have pancreatis, swollen lymph nodes.. just overall infected.. IT HELPS. A LOT.

i read the article and thats just insane.

Seriously now?
just for pills?

If the supreme court doesnt see this wrong i dont know what they wont find wrong
LEGAL pills at that. My mom bought 200 150mg pills when I had isotretinoin. No one made a dirty look, why you may ask? BECAUSE ITS POSITIVELY PERFECTLY BROTHERFUCKING LEGAL. Its not even like you can commit sucide on the damn things, all will happen is you will end up hurting like you got raped with a sandpaper condom and having to suck down a thick charcoal milkshake.
thats a very disturbing and graphic image..

The girl isn't even hot; she's fat. Was it worth it?

No offence to fat people. I'm just saying...it doesn't seem to be worth it, considering the controversy. I mean, if I was gonna do that, I would atleast make sure the girl... Never mind.

I'll shut up now.

A thirteen year old girl was strip searched in Arizona's Safford Middle School until she was completely nude. The parent was never contacted and the search was conducted immediately on-the-spot in one of the school's offices.

What would have been so dire as to require an explicit strip search of a child? What possession instituted an immediate search? A weapon you could assume, perhaps a dangerous illicit narcotic of the sort?

Ibuprofen, otherwise known as Motrin.

Again, the parent was never informed by any staff and only found out until the child told her when she was picked up by her mother later that day.

It is currently being taken to the Supreme Court where they will ACTUALLY DISCUSS whether or not it was warranted. Really? This requires a discussion in the supreme court when it's a clear violation of the 4th Amendment of the Constitution. For Ibuprofen of all things. This puts the matter in very dangerous territory, because if the ruling somehow passes as the search being acceptable then it will deem it perfectly acceptable in the future for all time until it is brought to the supreme court again, which would never happen. Completely allowing any school nearly just ground to strip search your child, your young brother or sister, niece.. think about this.

This is something you would expect in the most corrupt and disturbing fascist states in history. The mere notion that the act is going to be discussed from being right or wrong in the supreme court sickens me. Though it really doesn't fucking surprise me anymore.
Yes 2003 was a dangerous time to be a 13 year old girl. Do you realize the strip search occured 6 years ago. The girl in question is in her first year in college. Its not as if the have steadily stripped every girl year after year. Why not talk about Elian Gonzalez some more? Isolated incidents and isolated

Here, here. America, the beautiful.
You are kidding right? Anyway this the strangest story I've ever heard. But what I don't get is that why didn't the girl just say "Fuck you!", give them the finger and walk off. Thats what I would've done in this situation. Plus its well basically panadol, they practically give that stuff out at my old school.

No you wouldn't have. Most people cannot predict how they will act in situations that they have never been in before, quite a simple psychological fact.

If they really thought that she had something worth searching for (not ibuprofen - even prescription strength) they should call the police and let them do it or ask the girl to leave school grounds. Honestly, it's not a firearm, it's Advil. I'm not sure you can interrogate a child without parent or guardian present so why can you strip search one? A gross violation of the girl's rights I'd say. I would have simply refused the search no matter what they said and demanded they call my parents or the cops. And the reason this is relevant again (some people are saying that its old news) is becasue the court date on I believe the appeal is coming up.

And this is why I have lost all respect for the school systems. We've had I think 3 students ever strip searched at my old school but those were on grounds of concealed weapons. At least we have an active police officer there at all times.
aye, the police officers at my school atre dip shits though, according to one "a person could drive up to the front of your house and hack into your computer, see everything your doing, in seconds, and anti-virus programs won't stop it" um riiiiiight

I realize it was a while ago, but that is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the Supreme Court is finally getting involved. So if the Supreme Court says it's warranted, then any school will have the right to do so without interference with the law.

If anyone thinks the Supreme Court will rule in favor of Miss Redding without question, then think again. The Super Court has been known to make for some serious showboating material. Also, the court is not immune to lobbyists or special interests for that matter.

The final ruling/verdict is supposedly June. However, like I posted earlier, one Chief Justice has already been quoted in saying, "Its a matter of embarrassment or in some cases even death." The attorney representing the school was the one making the quote and statement preceding the quote by saying, "I really like what the one Chief Justice (Name) said, .."

So it's not looking so hot.

That's unbelievable! I could say it's sick and all, but above that I'm angry! This kind of thing should not happen!
*sigh*
