18th Birthday Ideas

Hello fellow Escapists!

Evidently I'm turning 18 at the end of the year (4th dec) and my parents have been nagging me for ideas of what I want to do.

So I have come to you for them. I'm basically your stereotypical geeky 17-soon-to-be-18 year old boy.

So whatever ideas you have are appreciated.

Also, I'd like it to be as cheap as possible. There'll also probably about 10 or 20 people.

My 18th wasn't long ago, it happened to be the same date that Helmet [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBfygUiS50g&ob=av2e] were playing in town so we went to see them and got quite drunk. It was really pretty awesome.

Ask them for lots of alcohol and hookers. Also some drugs on the cake. And the cake should be in the shape of tits.

Seriously, I don't know. For my 18th birthday I didn't do anything that extraordinary. Pretty normal as my birthdays go. You could make it a fancy dress party of some sort - dress like your favourite character (well it could be your but I'm thinking more like each own's) or maybe just a character from somewhere. Add some themed ornaments (cake shaped like something related to the characters?) and done.

Go old-school with a kiddy party. Imagine the look on the clown's face when he finds out it's an 18th not an 8th. He'll be so happy...

Failing that, hire a place that provides party facilities/functions. Bowling alleys, cinemas, McDonalds, things like that.

Disneyland! That's what I did for my 18th. It was the best birthday ever, even if it rained and I had the flu.

I just had a house party for mine. The family came round during the afternoon and early evening then when they're gone my friends and I cracked open the drinks cabinet.

My driver's license photo is of me looking greatly confused and completely pissed the morning after.

I went to the pub with my mates and drank until I had to be dragged home.........I haven't consumed mudslides or scotch in the 15 years since then!

It was a simple affair, doing what us Brits seem to to best......drinking enough to kill you but only suffering mild alcohol poisoning for the next couple of days!!

A gangbang, obviously. No, that would be wrong.

A LARP party? That would be fun with a group that size.
LASER tag party? Equally fun.
How about a bonfire party? Assuming you are in a less urban area where you could do that. Bonfires are awesome.

get really drunk like most kids on their 18th birthday! No, I couldn't advocate that either.

Since money is an issue, and you have lots of time until your birthday..do a fundraiser! Bake shit and sell it, wash cars, mow lawns, walk dogs..etc. Get your friends in on it. Work together and raise a lump of cash so that when your birthday arrives not only do YOU get to celebrate, but your friends get to celebrate after all that money raising and work. Then you could really plan a stylish party.

The few of my firends 18th birthdays I remember just involved a lot of booze. I do not really remember my own except that it was the day my girlfriend and I both lost our virginity.

i played badminton... the majority of my friends are younger than me, so couldn't drink, so we went and played badminton. i won, if that counts for much...
