My face nearly fell off when I found out that's where I was going, and what I'd be doing.

OT: Nothing as of yet; if I can find my Crysis disc (which has leapt out of its case by its own accord) I'll be booting that up.

If not I'll continue my 4th playthrough of Arkham Asylum (and it doesn't feel even the slightest bit old!).

EDIT: Horrifically it turned out to be the Avatar demo - the game's not even fucking pretty! (DX10 and highest settings here!).

What was the first game you played in 2010?

Mine was Mass Effect, I'm playing through it again for like the sixth time in preparation for the release of Mass Effect 2.

same i actually played it though new years i got home from a 12 hour shift 40 minutes before midnight couldnt be bothered going out so i finished my last insanity run before me 2

It's about to be Assassin's Creed 2. Nothing says Happy New Year like pointlessly frustrating timed jumping puzzles and traipsing back to my villa for money I don't need.

(I actually like this game more than the original. But it is far from perfect.)

Agreed, better than the first but it could have been so much more.

It's almost like Ubisoft's motto is "Innovation is Everthing...As Long As You Do It Gently." Playing parts of AC2, I'm reminded of parts back in Beyond Good and Evil, circa 2003. In seven years Ubisoft has advanced their core platforming about seven inches to the right. Could certainly move a little bit further, guys.

I also don't appreciate them treating me like I've never ever played a game before. Why can't AC2 see that I have AC1 save games on my hard drive, then cut out the stupid tutorials, give me all my powers, ramp up the difficulty by x10, and let me play? Would this really be so hard?

I should write somebody a letter or something.
