Stuff and nonsense. There have been many "exact" predictions of the world's end that have and gone, and each has been proven debunked.
Also, keep in mind this is an AZTEC calendar. Their world, the region where they lived. If anything, some meteor is going to wreck South America.

The Universe might also go on forever depending on which random guesswork you believe. I prefer that the universe will compress back to its original size and continue the cycle because heat death is such a boring way to end existence.

Actually, this "one guy put in charge of star reading" (which was actually the whole "priesthood" of the Mayans), predicted the date December 21st 2012 as being the day that the Earth, our Sun, and the center of our galaxy will align. To them this was a day of great religious importance which signified the beginning of a new age. They also had a more accurate calendar than our current solar calendar, they made this prediction (accurately by the way) and made this calendar hundreds of years ago. This isnt about the world ending! or your beliefs its the fact that when people have near death experiences they usually change for the better, i just think maybe the world needs to take a near death experience so it can realize what really matters in lifes and whats of value, LIFE!
The world better not end then. I haven't had enough time to be great. I'm only 14. that would piss me off!
Considering the countless things able to kill you within milliseconds and with no warning beforehand (solar wind blowing through a rip in the Earth's magnetic field) I really do not care anymore. If death is going to come, then come get me, I have no regrets.
The theory for 2012 (as according to my freinds) is that the earth will get so close to some black hole and we will be sucked into that. I think it a big load of bull
