Every year's got it's stinkers; plus most of the good stuff in any given year usually doesn't drop until around September at the earliest.

At least wait until the year is over before claiming it's the second crappiest gaming year. And a year can't be crappy if it has a Souls title and the lovely Kickstarter RPGs.

Incidentally, id this could be the 2nd crappiest, what was the crappiest?
Probably the year that E.T. made the entire gaming industry crash like a drunk teenager off a cliff.

Yes, the crappiest was 1983.

Okay guys I get it, I shouldn't let a couple of bad games dictate the outcome of this year. I just also have this bad feeling for some unknown reason that we're gonna get a aliens:colonial marines or two this year I don't know why. Maybe I should be more optimistic.

I was just about to post that. A good 8 of those games are on my favourites list, with about three other kickstarters all being supposedly released this year (The Mandatae, Pillars of Eternity, Shroud of the Avatar).

Honestly, I think this may be the best year in gaming we've had since... the last time I said that.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Mario Kart 8, Resident Evil 4 on steam, Infamous: Second Son, a new FFXIV ARR expansion, loads of great looking titles coming up for us to sink our teeth into.

I'd say Titanfall but it left me cold and indifferent, it was good but I did not enjoy it and shall be leaving the competitive FPS's to others a while.

As far as kickstarter goes: I'm waiting for my copy of Elite: Dangerous. I missed all the big RPG kickstarters, so I'm going to have to buy those after release. ;)

But yeah there's lots of indications that this is going to be an awesome year in gaming.

The Division, Watch Dogs, Mad Max, Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen, Transistor, Deus Ex Universe, Dying Light, Metal Gear Soldid 5, Thief, Scivelation, Titanfall, Wrack, The Witcher 3, Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, Dead State, Divinity: Original Sin, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Dark Souls 2, The Age of Decadence, The Stick of Truth, and many more!

bet you're great fun at parties.

Beginning of the year is always a dumping ground you negative Nell, plus there will always be "highly anticipated game this year to come out and suck a rhinoceros taint"

Good news everyone! You can now judge the quality of a year by the first less-than-a-sixth of it!

Yeah, no. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is waiting for a glut of anticipated releases in March, so you're likely going to eat your words then.

Hm, I disagree. A Hat in Time, inFAMOUS: Second Son, the rest of Walking Dead Season 2, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, Dark Souls II, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd, Watch_Dogs, BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, maybe Ground Zeroes if it doesn't suck as much as Peace Walker did, and who knows what else will show up later.

Looks pretty good to me.

Errrr... Hello!!? We got the second episode of the Wolf Among Us this year and we may yet get the third before the end of the year.

Also, Walking Dead season 2.

...did I mention I like telltale games?

The Mandate is due for a March 2015 release, don't know where you got 2014 from.

The other two are aiming for 2014, as long as Obsidian doesn't push the release date back again. (Take your time Obsidian, please take your time).

Do you like RPGs? According to IGN, roughly 30 are coming out this year. Just saying.

You sound completely silly. So two bad games fuck up everything? No. They don't. There's plenty of neat stuff to be released later on this year.

Ground Zeroes, Wolfenstein New Order, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remaster, Kirby Triple Deluxe, and so on. It depends what you're into, but those are what I'm looking forward to.

Why does everyone forget tom clancys the division or has it been cancelled or something? Man, I want that game.
I agree others sentiments on here, you don't judge a year by the crap but by the lack of good.
