22 y/o whacko Florida mother Megan Elizabeth Everett kidnapped her own 2 y/o daughter from her husband who was caring for their daughter because she wanted to home school her daughter the history of confederacy and to avoid learning about Black History Month! She left a note to her boyfriend who is the father of the child that she was taking her away from him because she didn't want schools to vaccinate and brainwash her daughter with false information about history and that's why she took her away from the public.

Looks like this loony toon has flipped her lid :/

It's like she's doubling down on the crazy. Racism, ignorance of science (It seems she was against vaccinations as well), and, possibly, anti-government secessionist.

Woot.

Hi, you're new here. Just want to point out two things;
a) If you're going to be bringing a story to our attention, you could at least link to story in question.
b) If you're going to be posting images of that size, it would be nice if you put them in spoilers tags.
Words
->
Moar Words
->
Moar Words
OT: Apparently, she also didn't want her daughter to get vaccinated. Which is a more pressing issue than her racial bigotry/ignorance.

She left a note? She left a note!? Not only a rather questionable personal integrity, but she's downright stupid, too >.>

Alright, on a more serious note, I suppose such things will happen now and then, because some people are just hopeless. Hope she gets a restraining order at least then someone to make her see she's doing her kid no favors that way.

Oh, and by the way, see how she looks completely normal? "The crazy" indeed isn't a separate and easily distinguishable breed of our species.

Well, let's hope the note helps her and the child get found faster. The sooner that girl is away from that woman the better.

Also, one more thing about posting stories here: while it isn't required, it is greatly appreciated when posting a news story that you post a link to the original article as well. That way everybody who reads the thread can see for themselves the original text of the story, and also read up on more details you may have left out of the OP (original post).

You know, you wouldn't even have needed to specify her being from Florida for us to figure that out. Seriously, why is it always Florida?

Well, yeah, but where else do you have "Black History", beginning with caps like that?

I don't agree with Black History Month necessarily, but being worried that a 2 year old is going to learn something? Is she out of her fucking mind?

I find myself agreeing with the man. Why would you have a month dedicated to that when you could just make an effort to ask the person sitting next to you, who is alive and here, about themselves?

Kidnapping someone, though, to stop them from being vaccinated or educated? That's a bollocks response. News sources:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2658193/Florida-mom-run-kidnapping-2-year-old-daughter-wouldnt-allowed-to-school-learn-black-history.html

(...)Even Everett's family believes Lilly belongs with her father, given her mother's state of mind.

'In the state of mind my daughter is in, Lilly would be better off with Robert,' Pam Everett, Megan Everett's mother, told the Sun-Sentinel. 'I have four kids, and Megan is my baby. I don't know what happened to her.'

The paper reports that Lilly and Megan lived with Pam Everett until the baby was eight months old, at which point she moved in with Carlos Lesters, whom the Sun-Sentinel describes as 'a Confederate-flag-waving gun enthusiast with family members in Georgia and Kentucky.'

(...)According to court records, Everett left a note for Baumann vaguely explaining her actions.

"You are a great dad," she wrote, with the word "great" underlined. "If I let them take her and vaccinate her and brainwash her, I wouldn't be doing what's right. I cannot let a judge tell me how my daughter should be raised. We will miss you. But I had to leave."

This all sorts of surreal for me; that kind of thing you can imagine happening but never actually becoming a reality .-.

Officials issued a warrant for Everett?s arrest on May 19, detailing kidnapping charges, interference with custody, and concealing a minor contrary to a court order. She is also being accused of crossing state lines to avoid prosecution of the state charges.
Welp, she's going to prison for a long time

Another day, another Floridian nutcase making headlines. Live in this state long enough and almost nothing will come as a surprise. This state even has its own TVTropes page [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OnlyInFlorida] dedicated to most of our wacky goings-on.

*topic* Jokes aside, while I disagree with Black History Month because I believe history should not have a color, gender, ethnicity, et-freaking-cetera, I also think this woman is a nutcase. I can only hope that the child is reclaimed and her disallowed to have children.

Normally, you'd think the court would side with the clearly not insane father.

But, Nope! This is North America! We don't have common sense here. The man is always wrong in domestic issues!

YAY! Legal systems! :D

It's not even that But One month isn't enough to appreciate or describe how a race and culture of people changed a nation many scholars say Black history should be integrated with regular history.

Anyway as for the woman, It seems a lot of women are taking away children from there fathers, I doubt she'll be punished all that much. I heard holocaust denier do similar things, when they get to WWII they pull their children out of classes.

People are nuts.

She did a bunk, as I understand it, so the authorities are after her. But yes, on the other point, you can't really force people to express an interest in learning about that stuff and it really is just human history.

Still...I can't help but wonder how many more kidnappings like this we'd have if they did try to teach it the same way.

Way to knee-jerk reaction there, buddy.

No one has said that the father is wrong and they're hunting down the mother.

Courts always side with women, don't you see, even when they don't.
No, especially when they don't.
