Josh wandered around for a while, not exactly knowing where this "Club Chi" was. He remembered walking past it several times, but he couldn't for the life of him remember how to get there.
As he walked through the city, he grew increasingly worried that he wouldn't make it there on time.
"Bear, what if we don't make it? I don't want to be late for the first thing, it would be rude."
You've still got time. Just try to remember where it is. Don't panic, just be calm.
Josh took a deep breath, tightened his backpack, and started running. "We're gonna make it. We're gonna make it. We're gonna make it..." He told himself as he ran through the district.
He eventually reached the Club. "Finally..."
Told you we'd make it
"Sorry for doubting you, Bear..."

He walked into Club Chi, and looked for the people he was supposed to meet. It was somewhat crowded, so he couldn't really see anyone of note. So, he waited by the door in hopes of either seeing a familiar face, or someone seeing him.

Damien saw another familiar face, recognized from the darkened room, standing at the entrance of the Club, apparently unsure of where to go. Damien waved at the man to get his attention, then used hand guestures to beckon him over. Damien wondered where everyone else was; so far, not a single partner of his had shown up, to his knowledge. He looked up at the clock. The time was 10:05. "Damn, first day and most everybody's fixin' to be late, eh?" Damien chuckled, hiding his nervousness. They couldn't fail this early in the game, they just couldn't.

"Alexis, looks like your doing the food job with me then" replied Tavien as he sat up on his seat slightly and offered his hand to his new 'partner'. As he waited for his handshake to be reciprocated, he heard Damiens comment on the absence of the others.

"I wouldn't judge them, I very nearly didn't turn up today, if they don't, thats just a choice that they make, albeit the wrong one"

"They have five minutes, give them a chance." Talitha said.
Despite defending them, she was very aware that no one else on the arms job was here yet, not unless this newly arrived person would be working with her, if no one else did turn up then she'd be working on her own, Talitha wasn't sure if she'd be able to do that.
She sighed, leaned on the table and sucked up the remainder of her drink through the straw.

Sorry for not posting. I have reason (though some of them aren't very good). One was that I had to go to school, and I was gone before I could do anything after school. I came home the next day with an ankle twisted in to an accordion knot, so I had to get that taken care of, spent the day after that sucked in to Dear Rising Two, and yesterday I was resting my foot. I am sorry and I hope I don't do this again.

Raymond stumbled in to the club that he was told to go to by some man in a suit saying he was part of the resistance. The smell of alcohol was on Raymond's breath. He saw a few people that he recognized from the meeting at a table. He approached them, holding up his hand weekly. "Huh... hi." He tossed a disk on to the table. "Send that to the news. It has a police officer using some unnecessary on a couple businessmen. Also, try to watch the officer. I bet you can't." He plopped down in a stool. "Also, sorry if I'm late. Took me a while to get that." He added, his voice getting a little week.

Yuma knocked on the car door and said, "Sir, its time."

Eric stepped out into the still somewhat dark park. It would be a while still until any sunlight penetrated the buildings around the area. He started out, and Yuma followed suit. Ava stumbled and caught up quickly. The three came to the center of the park, were only a single street lamp was lit. Eric stopped and Yuma stood by his side, it took Ava a moment to realize she should be at Eric's other side and she hurried into place.

Four figures stood on the other side of the light. A man stood flanked by two women, a large figure behind them. The mans voice rang out in the empty park, "Eric! Its been so long, how have you been?" He moved forward into the light and Eric met him.

Eric shook the mans hand, "Roberto!" he exclaimed, "You clever bastard! Last I heard you were behind a major fire in Miami. Don't tell me you were the one who made my job harder and made Miami's military stumble and give up ground to Chicago."

Roberto laughed heartily at Eric then said, "Yeah, that was my group. Wouldn't have pulled it off without the twins here." He thumbed to the two Arabic women keeping to the shadows. "It was a fun little project though. Took the Elite right off their feet I tell you. Anyway," Roberto waved to the dark figure, which quietly whirred to life. "I have a gift for you Eric. A little something I found in that fire."

Roberto's giant robot dropped a tremendous metal chest in front of the trio. "You'll like whats in there and so will your top mechanic."

"I see," Eric said, "Well, we'll most certainly have trouble transporting it. We lack a machine of that caliber. Anyway, I have a question. Are you ready to instigate our special project." Roberto nodded in reply, "Good," Eric said, "Because we start today. Do you know if our peers are ready in New York?"

Roberto thought for a moment before he replied. "I believe so. Last I heard we had managed to get quite a number of people into place"

Eric nodded back, "Thats what I was informed of as well. We'll need to get them into place in the next 8 months at most. 7 would be best but 8 will do."

The two continued talking for quite a while, the sun quietly rising as plans unfolded.

Page break

Gruff walked up to the table where several of Eric's candidates had gathered. Though they weren't all there. The time had come and those who had been late had not made the cut. Quicker than anyone could see, the disk a man named Raymond had thrown onto the table had been snatched up. "I'll be taking that." Gruff said, "You all work for me now. So if you'll follow me, I'll be taking you to your staging areas."

He turned on his heels and hurried away, forcing the rest of the group to get up and hurry after him. He rushed down a flight of stairs that seemed nigh endless, and he moved strangely fast for someone of his age. The came to a guarded room deep underground. The guards moved aside and opened a pair of heavy steel doors. Inside were two women, one with a clipboard on which she scribbled furiously, the other sat in automatic wheelchair. She smiled as all the members entered.

"Hi there!" She exclaimed, "I'm Stephanie, the man who led you down here is Gruff, and the other woman is Kate." Kate grunted a reply. "This is your first staging area for your first missions. You have a selection of various arms to your left. Nothing too big as we believe its for the best that you're not carrying around large weapons. We also have other various combat equipment that you could make use of." Stephanie did a quick head count and tutted. "It seems a few of your teams will come up short. Talitha and Joshua, you're short a man and if you'd like Gruff could accompany you."

Gruffs Jaw dropped, "Hey now!" he yelled, "Nobody said I was going-" He was cut off by a warm smile from Stephanie and a glare from Kate.

"You know thats what Eric wanted, Gruff." Stephanie said evenly. "You knew he'd send you along on one of the missions if we came up short." She paused for a moment as the small group dispersed around the room to equip themselves appropriately. "Damien and Raymond, It would appear your team is short a man as well. However, we don't have anyone else to go with you. Eric anticipated this as well and it shouldn't matter much. You're task is better suited to smaller groups." Stephanie spun her chair around and called over a member from each group, "Joshua Murray, Alexis Gates, and Damien and Raymond, please come to the table."

The members gathered and Stephanie gave maps and hand radios to Joshua and Alexis. "You two will act as team leaders for your respective groups. Remember you're auditioning for your spots in Alpha but Eric's research reveals you two quite fit to lead. However, Joshua, since Gruff is accompanying you, you will default to him if he feels the need." She then turned to Damien and Raymond, "There are police uniforms equipped with small built in radios. You have a map of the city line and sewer system around the Police Station, as well as a small portable computer for your task. Yours has the potential to go very wrong. Please don't fail."

She turned back to the room. "Alright everyone, once you're equipped you may head out and start your tasks. You'll find lifts to the surface at the back of the room. However they have been rigged to only go one way. Please, be sure to have everything you need before you go."
With that, she and Kate walked into one of the four lifts and left the room.

Solomon could see the meeting site from his hiding spot amid some bushes on top of a small mound. He couldn't hear anything, but he didn't really need to; he had other things that he had to attend to.

Bathin clutched Solomon's finger as he was lifted a bit above Solomon's head. Solomon focused on the small bird as he prepared for what was to come. He composed himself for a moment, leaving himself blank before connecting with Bathin. Then he pressed an energy at Bathin, a feeling, an attitude; it was all of those things yet none as well, something that Solomon couldn't express in human words; perhaps that was why animals didn't use them. Solomon then sent something simpler and more complex but no less natural for the bird. Search. Solomon had faith that Bathin understood well as he launched the sparrow into the air, they had practiced this maneuver many times since becoming fugitives.

And it was often effective. Man had developed a hundred ways of hiding their intentions from one another; disguising their dress, mannerisms, speech, directions, look, expressions, even thoughts. However, what they rarely expected to give them away was their energy, the primal force that they projected into the world. It was something that they didn't even think about; humans were no longer able to use it like they once could. But to an animal, which used such energy to communicate most acutely, it stood out like a beacon of intention. A hunter was a hunter no mater what the outer shell was, and prey was prey; any creature but humans could see the difference. Bathin would find such human predators with ease.

Actually, Solomon was surprised with how quickly he heard the signal chirp that Bathin was returning. Having landed on a small branch Solomon could feel the information in Bathin's posture and it took only a moment to get it. They were everywhere! Solomon panicked for a moment as he took a closer look at what the small bird projected. Predator energy covered the park, and surrounded it in several directions; it was especially strong at the meeting. That fact suddenly snapped Solomon back to thinking as he looked down again at the peaceful talks.

Suddenly Solomon understood his error as Bathin tilted his head. Bathin had done everything exactly right, finding all the calm aggressive energy in the area; all of it; that included the energy from Eric's guards and snipers as well as whoever the other negotiators had brought. Solomon hadn't expected this problem, animals might be keen on intentions and emanations but it wasn't natural for them to think in terms of sides or teams other then very close packs.

Solomon thought for a bit before coming up with something. He'd work out something permanent later but for now this had to do. He focused on a different energy, a sharp acute fear of anticipation. It was something that an attacker with foreknowledge of imminent battle might posses that an unknowing but alert defender wouldn't project. With another thought Bathin was taking flight for the second time, this was hardly foolproof but it was something.

At the same time Solomon prepared himself for something very different, all his previous work had just been projecting and reading feelings and intentions, something any person could do though perhaps not to such a degree. What he was going to do now though was something that was altogether different, Solomon had only begun to learn to do this when his parents had been killed. He was still a long way from mastery but now might be a good time to practice.

Solomon made himself comfortable as he prepared to meditate. He could feel the auras and energies of animals that were within his senses, so all he had to do was expand his awareness right? Easier said then done, but he could feel a very small part of himself detach and begin to slowly move though the park searching for any wild animals. Though Solomon had some doubts as to what kind of animal would live in a park that barely got any light.

*Ahem*

"I appear to have been left out of your little schemes here bosslady" piped up Tavien from his seat on a nearby table, disregarding the fact that there were maps and other pieces of intel present.

"I'm sorry, but I haven't come all this way to be forgotten about have I? Or do you ladies have something else in mind for me?" continued Tavien, giving both of the women in charge a wink.

Ava listened carefully. Although these plans would be recorded somewhere, she wanted to know what was going on. If there was anything she had a problem with, she would leave after today. She also didn't want to appear like she didn't care, or she couldn't do her job, as that would reflect badly on Eric.

Slowly, the light started to reappear in the sky. For a while Ava was distracted, gazing at the beautiful colours in the sky. But as she noticed the blues creep in, she suddenly remembered and checked her pocket watch. 9:35. Damnit.

She turned to Yuma, trying to get his attention. At first he ignored her, then gave a pointed glare. After a moment, Eric came to a pause in the conversation and turned to her. "Ava, is everything okay? You suddenly seem nervous."

She looked down, feeling a little guilty for disturbing their plans. "I'm sorry, but it's 9:35 and Yuma wanted to be out of here by half past." She blushed softly. "I just wanted to make sure you stayed safe. The organisation needs you. But carry on" she quickly added, "we can leave when you're ready."

Raymond noticed the woman who was very punctual. Five minutes isn't much, my dear. He thought, not wanting to bring it up. Some people here are so... distant from what a person should act like. They're too efficient, like little robots, almost. He looked at the weapons laid out for them. He grabbed one silenced and one unsilenced pistol from the rack of weapons. "Yes mam, I will do my best." Raymond said as he grabbed the police uniform. He began to take off his shirt, but then remember that he wasn't in any danger, so he could probably be seen. "Sorry, ladies, almost started to change." He apologized before blushing slightly and making his way to the lift. The pistol was police issue, and the silenced one was from a Miami manufacturer, meaning that it would be nearly untraceable in Chicago. "I'm ready when you are."

Damien picked up the set of clothes, then sighed, taking a small knife. It was one of the few things he could hold when intangible. He grabbed a pistol for show, but that was about it. If he had to kill, he would just freeze the man's heart. Completely untraceable- no gunpowder, no fingerprints, nothing. He nodded towards Raymond. "G'luck mate. We'll need it." He looked towards everybody. "Remember this: No matter what, we cannot fail. I realize that I'm no Eric, so I'm gonna keep this short. What we do today can bring a corrupted world to its knees. Officially, we don't exist. But what we will do will make them remember our names. What we do here today, will change the course of tomorrow." Damien turned his face away, slightly embarrased that he got so carried away.

"How fun," Alexis grins silently, darkly to herself, "I'm already slightly trusted in Alpha."

She turns back to the group, nodding lightly before heading through to get ready

She sits on the small bench, waiting for Tavien to stop flirting with the others and get to business, this mission just got a bit harder, the other one won't be showing up, the coward, Alexis growls to herself in thought. Before turning to playing with wire tied around her wrists, uncoiling and making shapes with the lengths using her power.

Eric turned to Ava and smiled, "You have a point, Ava. However, Roberto and I can't be rushed in our plans..."

Eric was cut off by Roberto, "Oh thats alright, Eric. The twins are getting jumpy as well," he shot them a glare where they quickly straightened their posture. "I think we'll be going home and joining your little plan today. I do hope it all goes well." Roberto held out his hand, which Eric clasped firmly.

"As do I" Eric responded, "Things should go flawlessly, but you know as well as I that we have systems in place for contingencies." The two men shook enthusiastically before Roberto turned and walked away. His large robot and two body guards following.

Eric turned to Yuma and Ava, and asked the two, "Do you two have any idea how we're going to move that monster of a crate?" Yuma shook his head as Eric passed a wink on to the girl, "Ava? How about you? Any ideas?"

Stephanie turned to Tavien and met him with icy eyes that betrayed her smile. "You, Tavien, were not called because your entire squad has shown up. You even have a squad leader now, Alexis. If these accommodations are not acceptable to you then I can always have you escorted from the building. However, the best way to throw this organization pursuing you would be to have Alphas help. Would it not?" She turned her chair around and flicked a hand at Tavien before going. "Its your decision. You may have Alphas protection or be alone on the streets again."

Time Travelling Toaster said:
I just want to remind you that you're not on the police mission but if you'd like a uniform or think it would help your character then go ahead.

Xero Scythe said:
And I would like to mention that I don't mind you stopping a heart, but if you intend to kill someone, please write in some backlash in power for your character.

Ava looked at the crate, and tentatively lifted it. Almost immediately, she dropped it again, apologising profusely. "I'm really sorry, I hope nothing is broken. But lifting that will take all my power, and there's no way I can get it to the car. If you move the car right next to it, I should be able to though..."

Yuma signalled to the driver, and the car stopped beside the crate. Carefully, Ava lifted it up, gently pushing it into place. As she released it, she collapsed, grabbing the car for support. "I need to rest now, I'm so weak I can barely stand. I hope this doesn't cause too many problems."

Ava sat in beside the driver, resting her head back. It wasn't long before she was fast asleep again. Using her powers made them stronger, but she still got so tired afterwards. Slowly she would improve though, and it wouldn't be a problem. Or at least, she hoped so.

"I do love warm receptions" said Tavien, talking to no-one in particular, as he walked and sat next to the woman from earlier on a bench, the woman that would be his squad leader during his first mission with Alpha. While he had nothing against Alexis, the idea of following another's orders jarred him slightly, since his time on the streets and with the Agency before that, he was mostly his own boss.

'If only they knew'

"So, whats the plan boss?" asked Tavien eventually, letting his eyes be drawn to the metal wire Alexis was manipulating, it was impressive, though Tavien knew that the feats he could perform were far more impressive.

'Again, if only they knew'

Talitha looked at the man called Gruff, then at Joshua and smiled. She wasn't alone and it looked like they had someone who actually knew what they were doing on their team, even if that person was reluctant, there was something about him that let her know he'd do his best.

Talitha walked over to the selection of weaponry and selected a small pistol. She looked at it for a short while before realising there was no where she could put it. Tucking it into her belt wouldn't do, it would be too noticeable and if she had to run, it'd most likely fall out. Instead, she took one of the holsters off the table, the knife hidden in her right boot and quickly modified it, turning it into a thigh holster. She tightened it around her right thigh, under her dress so it wasn't visible, then stowed the gun there making a mental note to get a bag of some sort.

Sorry, I kind of forgot this RP existed, my bad >_>
"Exactly what Eric said," Alexis shrugs.

"We go in, cause some chaos, mess up their food supply," she smiles thinly at Tavien, "or we could go in quietly, sabotage it then disappear before they know what the fuck has happened. Any view Tavien?" she asks, wondering how the man will react.

"Guns blazing? Bad idea missy, the second the shooting starts the filth will be all over us and when they see my face, we're done for" said Tavien, leaning back in his seat and looking up at the ceiling, his eyes obscured behind his shades, making it impossible to see if his eyes were open, or closed.

"I was thinking, we sneak in, plant two sets of explosives, one set along the main floor and the other set along the roof. We det the roof when we are far away and when the police come to investigate, we detonate the second batch, destroying the food and the cops"

Tavien crossed his ankles and put his hands behind his head, as he was quite obviously proud of his 'magnificent' plan.

Josh nodded wordlessly to Stephanie and left the table with his usual grin. He seemed happy, but something wasn't sitting right in his head. Team Leader?! What on earth are they thinking?! I don't know how to lead things! Hell, I barely know how to DO things!

The ever rational voice of the teddy bear came into his head. Don't worry! If you need help, ask for it. It's only you and two others, how hard can that be? If anything, just tell someone else you want them to lead into this thing.

Josh stopped, took a deep breath, and continued walking. I just don't know, Bear. I've never been this terrified about something. I mean, the lives of two other people are relying on me. You know I don't like when people could get in trouble because of me. Now, two people; actual, real, thinking, human people could DIE because of me. What if I do something wrong? Or worse, what if I have to actually shoot or kill someone?
Don't worry, Josh. Nobody's going to die. You'll do fine.
He walked towards the weapons and armour. "Where would I be without you, Bear?"
He grabbed a pistol, and put it in his backpack. "I hope I don't have to use that..."

Josh looked around for anyone that would be with him on the assignment. He saw Talitha modifying a gun holster. He smiled, and walked up to her. "Ms. Talitha, right? I'm Josh, I'm one of the people going with you along with Mr. Gruff. You have any idea what we'll be getting into here? This sounds like it'll be a pretty big thing."
