Having stayed alert throughout the meeting Solomon was nonetheless relieved when it was over. He had constantly been nervous ever time Bathin returned from his patrols despite the fact that every time there had been no source of danger.

Seeing the car fly in and the other negotiators depart Solomon began making his way down to them. He had to quietly admit that he was impressed when the other new recruit had lifted a massive crate into the vehicle, a large robot had apparently been necessary to bring it here.

As the light continued to filter into the park and Solomon grew closer the others might notice a slight change in him. The vest that he had been wearing was now folded neatly in his arms. Sticking it's head out of the folded cloth a small brown cat with matted fur looked back at the others. Solomon had found the undernourished, scared, and probably abandoned kitten during the meeting and had quickly and quietly retrieved it.

Thinking that one of the others was giving the cat an odd look Solomon responded with a simple but though, "What?" as though daring someone to remark on the feline.

"No, you'd be done for," Alexis smiles, pulling the wires back up into her sleeves.

"Although you're plan does sound good, presuming we don't get spotted on the way there," she stands up, motioning for Tavien to follow suit, "shall we get going then?"

Sorry, I've had writers block (despite the fact I wrote a sheet >_>) I just couldn't think of anything proper to post =/

"Lead on" said Tavien as he stood up and cracked his neck, preparing to move out and show Alpha what he could really do.

Sorry for the one-liner, but I've nothing else to post :S

"Yeah, hi Josh, you can call me Tali." Talitha gave him a quick smile as she greeted him. "It does sound pretty big, I mean, I've stolen stuff before, nothing like this though."
Talitha looked at Gruff again then back to Josh. "I'm kind of glad he's coming along with us, but you're the team leader, any plans?"

.

Sorry for the late and short update. Writers block + RL stress = not a lot of time for RP. It's mostly sorted now though. =]

Josh sighed and looked at the ground, "I have no idea what the plan is. I've never really technically stolen anything, so I don't really know what to do. I don't even know what we're getting into here. But we've got Mr. Gruff, and he seems like one to know how to do stuff. Most I can figure is try to get in without being seen and get out the same way. I guess we'll try to figure out how to do that when we actually see what everything looks like."

He lifted his backpack around his shoulders and looked up at Talitha, smiling. "I don't know much about stuff like this, Tali, but I can at least promise you that I'll do anything and everything I can to make sure you and Mr. Gruff get home safe."

Ava woke to find herself being tapped on the shoulder. "Miss Stratus?" She groaned and tried to ignore it, but they tried again. "Miss Stratus, can I ask you something?"

She blearily opened an eye, and turned back to the person talking. "What is it?"

It was a young guy who spoke to her, probably about 20. "How did you lift that crate? It was so big and heavy! The other guy needed a robot to carry it over!"

"I've had a lot of practise with my abilities over the years. I'm used to making myself levitate, which when you think about it takes a lot of strength." Ava smiled sadly as she thought back to her experience with her talent. "I've also got used to throwing large objects around. With enough practise, anyone can get that good with their specialism. What can you do?"

"Well, nothing as impressive as you..." She smiled softly, and he blushed. "I'm kinda gifted at fighting, I can predict people's actions and counter-act them. But only one-on-one" he added shyly, "and I'm only accurate every other time or so. And I'm pretty weak, so I use it to avoid attacks rather than to attack better."

"That's good." He looked at her quizzically. "You know what you need to improve on. You also use it to your advantage by dodging, rather than attempting to attack and risking more problems. You just need to practise. Trust me, one day you'll be great."

The car stopped. "Where are we?" someone asked from the back of the car.

"I dunno," answered the driver. "But the car ahead with Mr. Ashton and Mr. Kurosuchi has stopped, so I guess we've arrived."

Eric's driver came to a sudden stop, lurching Eric out of his seat. A grunt escaped his lips as he landed. "Sorry, sir, the engine seems to have died." Came the apology from the driver. Eric replied by mumbling something along the lines of "Its quite alright."

Yuma's eyes narrowed as he looked out the window. The street was empty, despite the area being a business district of some prominence. "Sir," he said, "We had Gruff looks these vehicles over himself last night. They should be in perfect working order, and more importantly the streets utterly clear. Look, the businesses aren't even open." Yuma's information woke Eric from whatever dazed state he was in. Looking around he could see the trouble a mile away.

"Why didn't we notice earlier?" He asked his chief of security. "By all means, this is by far the dumbest trap we've stumbled into..." Eric looked at his driver, he was a new recruit but Eric thought he had done a better job of choosing his new blood.

"One moment sir and I'll..." The drive felt cold steel press into the back of his skull.

"Just who are you and what did you do with Jason. You'll answer or you'll be killed, take your pick" Eric's voice had gone cold as ice.

"I'm afraid I don't know quite what you mean, s..." The mans voice cut off as a derringer sized bullet left the front of his head.

"Too bad," Eric said cooly, "You made the mistake of speaking, Jason had a Boston accent, you did not." He tucked his small pistol away and nodded to Yuma. Yuma nodded back and hit a button. A brilliant flash and a small explosion in the front of the car veiled the small convoy in smoke. Eric tugged Solomon away with him and all parties sprinted towards the other car in the confusion.

Eric jumped into the back while Solomon followed. Yuma made a quick bow to the driver then shoved him into the passenger seat and hand cuffed him. "Sorry, you can't be trusted right now either." Slamming the car into reverse, they sped away. 3 gunshot rang out as they left the smoke, 1 cracked the rear windshield.

"Well, that was close." Eric breathed, the epicenter of the crack just behind his head, "Glad we bullet proofed the cars." He looked around at the shocked expressions on everyones faces, "Everyone okay?"

Gruff lit a cigarette with the small acetylene torch in his finger. "Well," he said to Josh and Tali, "We have work to do, but as per usual Eric's put someone else in charge. Not that I blame him, this is a test after all." He paused and looked at the two, "There I go rambling again, just ignore it if it happens again. I'm pretty sure everyone else does." He then looked at Josh and asked, "Alright, boss, where do we go first? Its entirely up to you."

The pairing move through the streets towards their destination, the police pass by them, staring at the strange pairing of people.

"Scum," Alexis growls as yet another patrol passes by them. "What's your story for being here anyway, Tavien?" she asks quietly, genuinely interested in her partners past.

I don't really know what to post >.>

Josh looked down at his feet as he kicked a bit of dust around.
"Okay, I think I have a plan. One thing I learned when I was growing up was how to get and keep peoples' attention. If I can keep the guards distracted, you two can go in and get the thingamabobs that we need to get and leave without being noticed."
He thought about his plan, and smiled. He pulled the teddy bear from his backpack. "Bear and I have been distracting people for a long time. We can do stuff to get money, let people get to safety from people attacking them, whatever. I think it'll be the same concept here, right?"

He looked at his little inanimate friend, "Bear does an awesome impersonation of this one guy that my family told me about when I was really little. I think he was royalty, or something. They called him 'The King' and he sang these songs a lot about dogs and blue shoes..."

He trailed off for a little bit, then quickly snapped back to the present. "Sorry, my mind wandered. Anyway, the basic plan is I distract everyone, then you two go in and do what needs to be done. Then we all get out and we all live happily ever after."
Josh looked at Gruff, hopeful, "Does that sound okay, Mr. Gruff?"

"Thank you Josh, that means a lot. I'll do the same for you." Talitha assured him. She then scrunched her nose as Gruff lit a cigarette, she didn't mind people smoking, but the smoke always smelled foul.

Talitha listened to Josh's plan, she raised an eyebrow when he pulled out and talked about his scruffy bear. The way he talked about it seemed ludicrous, but she was also slightly jealous, at least he had a companion, something to keep him grounded.

She sighed and considered Josh's plan. On one hand it was simple, nothing too hard to pull of, on the other, so much could go wrong if he couldn't keep the guards distracted. How would he defend himself if the guards attacked him? She felt she needed to voice this.

"It's good, simple," Talitha said, "But what about you? What if you can't keep the guards distracted and they attack you, I'll have Gruff's help, but you'll be alone."

Hugh, I need to stop forgetting this RP exists. Too much schoolwork, me thinks. If someone would kindly give me a recap, I would be very appreciative.

Solomon felt like throwing up but contained it as he sunk into the seat of the new car. The scent of blood and gunpowder still chocked his nose but he tried to focus somewhere. Eric had asked if everyone was alright. Solomon did a quick self diagnostic and found that he didn't seem to be harmed, though his poorly secured gun was gone; probably fallen in the street during the dash. Bathin had followed swiftly with the group and now settled on the headrest looking about the car at the sounds of the bullets. The small kitten was also still cradled in Solomon's arms though it had probably been squeezed a little during the run.

"I... I'm fine. But I dropped my gun." Solomon stuttered quietly. Not like it mattered anyways. Solomon thought to himself. He had failed. His one job was to protect Eric, to look out for any danger, but could he even succeed at that? No of course not. What did Solomon even think he was doing here among these mercenaries and fighters? He was dead weight that was all. Eric had been counting on him, but he had failed. Solomon sat in a whirlpool of self doubt as bullets continued to strike the car.

"But what about you? What if you can't keep the guards distracted and they attack you, I'll have Gruff's help, but you'll be alone."

Josh thought about it for a minute. "Well, that's the thing. I don't want them attacking you, I want them to be as far away from you two as I can get them. If that means getting them to attack me, then I'll do it. I told you I'd do anything to keep you safe, and I mean it. Even if I get a few scrapes and bruises, at least you two will get the job done and leave without any bleedy holes.
"B'sides, that's relying on an if. If they attack me. They might, sure, but the better thing is they might not. B'Sides. I have a few tricks up my sleeve for that sort of thing. I've been a wandering homeless guy since I was a little kid, I know how to get away from scary things."

Josh thought about it again. He hoped his new friend would accept his answer. He didn't have many friends through his travels, and now the life of the one he's just made rested on his shoulders.
"If you have a better plan, I would like to hear it, Ms. Tali. But my whole idea is keep you and Mr. Gruff away from danger as much as possible. And the way I see it, you two can also get those nukey-ma-jigs, too!" He put his backpack back on and smiled, "It's a win-win, right?"

Raymond put his hand on Damian's shoulder. "Don't worry, friend, every war needs at least one speech to go on it's memorial." He said, remembering the memorial for the Battle of Portland that he passed everyday when on his way to school when he was still a child. It said, emblazoned on it in gold and a strange black substance, "Not all heroes are soldiers for the Republic, but all soldiers for the Republic are heroes." He was etched in to his mind by now, having seen it every day for eight years. "Now, come on, we've got some pigs to put down." He added with a smile.

"I'm no good with plans," Talitha laughed nervously and clasped her hands together, "just be careful."
Talitha knew Josh wouldn't change his mind, she was happy he wanted to keep her safe, but she wanted everyone to come out of this in one piece too, she then looked towards Gruff, waiting for his take on the plan. Now they had one, she was eager to get going.

Damien changed into the police uniform quickly, holstering the gun and hiding the knife in a convienent buckle within his sleeve. He nodded to Raymond as both of them headed towards the elevator. "So, how do you want to do this? Kill a few policemen, leave the evidence in the head swine's cupboard?" He asked, indicating a knife. "It's not very original, I'll grant you, but if we can get his fingerprints, it's irrefutable."
