9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. I actually really enjoy a lot of non-combat games, although that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good bloodbath every so often.

Pokemon Leaf Green.

You only slaughter fluffy super-powered animals in that.

Hmmm...I feel as though I should be worried that I cannot remember a game I played that did not involve the killing of something...

Oh well, back to shouting Bandits off a mountain.

Batman Arkham Asylum (what? You don't kill people!).
Not true, Batman kills both Solomon Grundy and Ra's Al Ghul, it's just they can be ressurected.

I would have to say Braid, and that was all the way back in late August.

So escapist what is the last game you played that didn?t have any combat in it ?

Mine is Syberia . I haven?t finished it yet so who knows I might still have to fight a giant robot by the end but so far it?s been some of the most fun I had with a game this year.
syberia is a great game. so is syberia 2 but to a lesser extent. and the soundtrack is fucking amazing for both games! i havent played it in years but that might be the last game i played that didnt involve murder, as well. however, i am now imagining a giant endgame boss fight where you battle monsters in a giant automaton, stopping periodically so you can get out and wind it back up

This topic or similar ones seem to recur.

Honestly, you could probably put most fighting games into the catagory of "didn't kill anyone" because most of them don't nessicarly involve fatalities, and the survival of the characters is generally guaranteed for the next title.

That's just off the top of my head. Now if you mentioned games that didn't involve any violence... well that's trickier, I'd have to think back to the last adventure or puzzle game I played probably.

I can't remember if you kill people (deliberately) in Monkey Island..

But if not that, then probably From Dust and/or the various Phoenix Wright games, except you're usually solving murders, so that kinda throws it out.. but it's not your typical blood-splattery, body-counting kill-fest, so maybe it does count.

Oh! Recettear counts! I don't think skeletons and slimes count as people, and the majority of the game's storyline doesn't even take place in a dungeon. :D

Otherwise there's always the Portal games (replayed 1 after finishing 2), EVO (which only involves eating animals, unless you count those bird people in the one area, but I didn't play it that far this time).

Kinda sad when you think about it. Everything from Mario to Skyrim involves killing people, especially when you take into account the RPGs where the Goomba's and Koopa's really do talk and have personalities.

EDIT: Oh yeah! I played Pokemon Yellow a few months ago. :3

No *killing*, Arkham City.

No *combat*, Portal 2.
Actually I'm pretty sure in Arkham City one of the ways he ends one fight would be considered murder.

Does Trials HD count? 'Cause that guy tends to die ALOT. Other than that either Forza 3 or Portal 2.
