Well, after I managed to update my status from "lurker" to "active member of the forum", I thought that maybe it was time to celebrate my 400th posts by reviewing my time on these forums.
First of all:
I generally really like this place, there are tons of interesting threads, tons of nice guys, two of which especially spring to mind who feature avatars depicting video-game characters of the canine variety, tons of nice GALS, which in this case shall be represented by a Dark Souls boss and a french? "military" leaderess.
Many times, this forum has provided thought-provocing topics, delivered insights on controversial issues (looking at YOU, sexism topics) and generally provided opportunities to wreak havoc, make bad puns and enjoy the flames of a war.
On the other hand, this forum seems to also have the tendency to never let an issue go, to pursue it until everyone is quite sick of it and then go on to repeat this process again and again, following a vicious circle until the very end of time. This of course provides many opportunities for satirical threads, but after a while, ac ertain pavlovian response is conditioned, causing one to react to threads discussing the same topics again and again and again with cynicism and even a feeling of being physically uncomfortable.
On the other hand, it also makes this forum quite unique, since so many people seem ready, willing and able to spend a lot of time discussing the same topics over and over again.
So, what do I want to say with this incoherent rambling?
Don't change dear escapist forum, but maybe change topics a little more often.

Yay for me, 400 posts whee...
