tons of nice guys, two of which especially spring to mind who feature avatars depicting video-game characters of the canine variety
Yeah, I hear that guy is awesome and that he is a kind and generous lover.

I agree that some topics just never seem to fade, but they're easy enough to ignore.
Excuse you? He's clearly talking about me~

Did I ever invite you to the Brovengers?

If not, I can send you an invite if you want :D
Well I did already get invited to join the Injustice League...

You never did, but if it's all the same to you I'm good not being among the brovengers. I'm a free agent. Or more specifically a Lady Bits agent.

No, it's fine.

I didn't want to chat with you anyway...

I say Daystar old chap. We'll always be friends. I have to be a private detective, I can't associate with either side of this conflict.

400 posts? Is that all?

[sub][sub][sub]Joking of course.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Yeah, it's a pretty fun forum. And a good way to kill some time on the 'net.
You better respect your elders, I have been on here longer than you and Daystar...
Now fetch me my cane.
But not longer than me *****. Fetch your own cane.

400. Woah that's a long time ago (for me). I still had Squall as my avatar, Daystar hadn't even joined, Loading Ready Run wasn't part of the site, Furburt and Demented Teddy were probably the biggest celebrities, maybe MaxtheReaper.

And of course, joining a forum group has suddenly boosted my post count way way up. I'll be there with Fappy and Daystar and Hazy and the rest of the big boys soon enough.
Nor as long as me. But only by an incy wincy bit.... And MelasZepheos has still been here longer than me, and has a lot more posts.

It would've been Max and Neonbob as the celebrities. Furburt didn't become really big until late 2010 if my memory serves correctly, but Max was definitely the big thing until the end of 2009 (he was banned in December that year).

Also, all these people talking about how they've been here longer than each other are really making me feel old. I don't like feeling old; it means I have to start enjoying The Archers and using the phrase "Get off my lawn."

Complaining that you feel old, when you should rather celebrate your 8000st post. Tststs.
Let's get grandpa here a wheelchair and a birth-day cake. No candles though, they might interfere with his oxygen-tank.

I changed my custom title to a parody of Master Archivist. How much more effort did you expect from an old man?

And where's my blanket and hot water bottle! The service around this care home has really gone downhill recently.

Well, I would bring you a hot-water bottle, but I seem to have misplaced my cane. Send one of the younglings to get it.

That would never work. Young'uns don't respect their elders like they used to.

If I had pubclub while I was 'ascending the ranks', I would have used parodies of the default titles too.

Like "Off the Record" for example XD
I did consider using Off The Record for a bit, but I think I prefered my other titles at the time. Plus I would really only do parody titles as celebrations, and I was way past 5000 posts by the time I got PubClub - Part of the reason why I'm using Incompetent Archivist this time is just because I thought it up before my 8000th post.

I know right!? They come here, steal our stuff because we "can't be trusted with the keys to the doomsday device," and trample over the flowers in the garden as they leave. People used to be better; we had standards and were polite and respectful. Now I have simply lost all hope for this generation.

From my experience, this place is miles better than most gaming forums, if not most forums in general. Comments are thoughtful, well put together, and show a genuine desire to contribute to the discussion (although that's partly attributed to the occasionally overzealous moderation team). I hang around these forums for a half hour, then I go look at Rotten Tomatoes or something and the difference is astounding. And as an American, I also like that there's a decent sized international community, which isn't as common on some forums.

If I had to criticize it, I'd say it's too self victimizing and self important (the number of "nice guy" or "friend zone" threads I've seen are beyond counting), and on occasion, there can be a sense of male focus, if not outright sexism, though it's not nearly as bad as other gaming forums. Other than that, it's one of the most civil and approachable communities I've seen.
