Really, ask yourself whether the Xbox 360 exclusives are worth it for you. If yes, then buy it, and if not, then don't.

Hey there. I own a good gaming PC, a really good one, but lately it seems that a lot of games isn't coming out on the PC. My question is to you who have both a good PC and an Xbox 360, is it worth to have both?
I'm a little short on cash, so i'll have to think it through before i buy my 360. Is it worth it, or do you wish you hadn't bought yours?
Don't get a 360, Most exslusives will just come to the PC. The ps3 is a better choice though for only 100$ more.
Its been the oppsite latly, whats changed.
Lets see, Assassins creed? Went to pc. Mass Effect? Went to pc. Gears of war? Went to pc. Halo 3? Will be going to pc you can bet your asshat on that.

I've got a good gaming PC, but my decision to get the 360 was easy.

Three words:

Ace
Combat
6

When picking a console, avoid getting advice from other people because it's too polarized. The PS3 fanboys and the 360 fanboys can do nothing but shit all over each other rather than provide any sort of real logic as to which system you should get.

The best advice you'll ever get here, is to look at the games that are out, and the games that are coming out for each system and see which one has more games you want.

Probably good advice to follow. May I also suggest that you not rest your final decision on the ramblings of a gaming forum (which will have fanboys), and let the games decide? Find out which console will have the games you like, and buy that console. If it's the PC, well then, upgrade.

Way to totally avoid answering the question.

In essence. Yes. There'll always be something on one console or the other that makes that console worthwhile.

Even the fucking Jaguar.

As a PC Gamer you are going to be looking at more and more MMORPG and downloadable content. Steam is probably your best bet if you want to focus exclusively on the PC gaming side of things, there is a wide variety of games for a multitude of tastes in their marketplace.

I would start there Before I dropped a whack of money on a new console (which requires a whack of extra money to get it up to snuff, when I bought an Xbox 360 I ended up dropping close to CAN$1000). Also realize that a lot of the major titles coming out for consoles are often times easily and eventually ported to the PC (These titles start their lives on PCs and PC is not considered a competitor platform to developers)

As a PC exclusive gamer, if you did buy a console you would gain access to more game titles, and don't listen to those guys who say otherwise, that's PC gamer fanboyism, we all know it. Consoles are intrinsically going to have a constant flow of games tailor made for the platform because that is all they are about. No time wasted on developing word processors, web browsers, and the next Adobe Creative Suite.

Also as a PC gamer, the Xbox 360 would likely be tho most comfortable transition as far as hardware, software, and overall theme is concerned. Next would be Sony's system, but it is this generations Game Cube except for the fact that the Cube was inexpensive.

The Wii may be cheap, and it may have mouse like motion control, but it is definitely the furthest from what you are used to.

Summing up: Start looking for downloadable content centres i.e. Steam. if that doesn't get you enough of that good gaming stuff, check out consoles, my immediate recommendation for a dosh concerned PC gamer would be an Xbox.

You know, it's funny that a thread asking whether a person should get a Xbox 360 (while also having a high-powered PC) is being met with so many "Don't get the Xbox 360, get the PS3 instead!" comments, especially when the question asks whether getting the console is worth it, not if they should pick one over the other. God forbid this turn into a flame-skirmish or something...

I've played on PC exclusively for a long-long time, back when an AMD xp2500+ was actually acceptable for gaming. I've owned an Xbox for about 1.5 years and I just recently bought a PS3 because the Japanese designers of my favorite anime thought it would be hilarious if they released a game for it but on the console I don't own. I would say get it, just for the sheer fact that, its like 1/2 of what you would spend on an average gaming rig, and you can buy/rent a shitload of games for it and really try new things. I thought all the tards prattling on plastic guitars were idiots until I actually tried Guitar Hero on my 360.. I now own the entire rockband set and 2 Guitar hero guitars. If you yourself can think of 5 games it would be cool to try, get the damn thing because I guarantee you that you'll find a bunch of games to play. Beyond that, playing over XBL in comparison to PC multiplayer is wonderful. If you have a decent internet, and have the self intelligence to play with people from the same continent as you, you'll never get lag or get booted.. and beyond that you'll have fun. Have you ever played GTA? imagine taking that but playing it online in a Deathmatch style game where you can do whatever you feel like to kill your enemies? Personally I like to Drift over people in a car, that way they get the impact of being slammed by the horizontal weight of the car, and I maximize contact and time under the car by going over them sideways.

If your really that conscious about it not being for you, go to a rogers or a Blockbuster and rent one for a few days along with a couple of games and see if you enjoy it. I did that a long time ago and believe me.. I played Fight Night Round 3 so much I wore all the rubber off of the controller, gave myself a set of nasty blisters on my thumbs. Of course that could have been because my brother I was playing with ALWAYS played as Roy Jones Jr. and blocked like crazy, but still, we were up for hours fighting the proverbial battle over who was better.

No he says hes getting a 360 anyway but hes asking should he get a gaming pc, Nice reading.
He already has a good gaming pc actually. It's not a suprise that people are saying to get a PS3 instead given how many 360 games end up coming out for the PC, it makes the most sense from a monetary standpoint.

OP:If I was you I wouldn't bother with a 360 if you have a good gaming machine. If you don't want any of the other consoles you would probably be better off just saving your money or putting it towards PC upgrades.

As one member on these forums said:

"If you have a low end PC, get a 360
If you have a high end PC, get a PS3"

Makes sense as 360 exclusives do come to PC alot.

But it always comes to the choice of games so just look up games on 360 and PS3 and make a choice.

EDIT: Or as shadow skill said, save it for PC upgrades.

Yay, thread has turned into a flame war. You have a powerful PC, right? Then just stick with PC. Most 360 games get ported on to PC, it is true that ps3 has more variety of games, but half of them are mediocre (dodges rocks from fanboys). The only unique gaming experience you'll get from a console is the wii, that's why I'm getting one this christmas, plus its the cheapest.

There's a flame war? I don't see it, honestly I don't, it's just people saying to get a PS3 because games on 360 go to PC anyway and allegedly the PC is the better experience.

And where are these mediocre games? I'm content with the game I have, 5 ofthem being exclusive, 4 of them being multiplatform, 30 of them being demos :p And 1 PSN game.
