Remember that post about a week ago where I praised GameStop for quick service on replacing my RRoD 360? Well, the "new" one just died on me, giving me the RLoD (not the ring, just one light) and error E74. Tried all the do-it-yourself easy fixes, and none of them work, so I'm out of a 360. Again.

At least I got the warranty again. I'm going to see if I can trade it towards a new (not refurbished) system, because this is just ridiculous.
Your absolutley right, this IS ridiculous! I hope you dont color me a fanboy for posting this, but if you dont have too many 360 games your attatched to you might wanna consider a swwitch in consoles altogether (even though you could sell the games anyways). I wouldnt normally recommend something like that, but I mean the damn thing has died twice on you in 2 weeks...
I tend to agree. This is just because you seem to have bad luck with X-Box 360s.

I'm not trying to sound mean and I''m not bashing the xbox, but why do victims of multiple RROD keep going back?
Surely, there's a time when you cut your losses and go PS3.
Is it because there's a chance you get a robust one?

If this happened with the PS3 their customer service department would say it was something on OUR end that WE did to the system, void the warranty and tell us they would fix it for $200 plus shipping.

I don't dislike the system, I just hate Sony.
Eh, I'll give you that much, but most if not practically all customer service are horrible.

Though I feel your pain, I also hope for a better fate.

hmm. In 2.5 years, I've had 2 red rings and one issue related to the disc drive not actually spinning discs. I got the ringed ones fixed for free, but I had to be a small fee of like $25 for the one with the disc problems. MS did fine by me. I personally enjoyed the chance to use my DS more. :) I have had no issues since I got it back in early May of '08.

Shame on Microsoft for still selling defective units when the cause of the problems have already been uncovered.

a freind of mine also tried the 'do-it-yourself' methods all of which did not work, he resulted to sawing the damn thing in half and buying a new one. Somtimes i think microsoft need to spend less time making new and intresing warning lights to glue on consoles and try to solve the problems before hand.

Because we like the selection of games better.
Because we have lots of friends on Xbox Live who don't also have PS3s.
Because the PS3 is damned expensive.
Because we like the controller better.
Because just about every game on the PS3 (minus maybe 5) are also on the Xbox, and are usually better on the Xbox.
Because we don't feel like rebuilding our games library.

Just saying.
