I barricade the doors and windows with every heavy piece of furniture that I can find before locking myself in the basement and praying to whatever deity may/may not exist that I still have internet... And if possible, use the thickest book I have to beat away any zombie that may get in. Luckily the thickest book I have is about 1000 pages long and is a hardcover.

1) Ground floor, too open to attack, with large glass door around the back. Therefore, abandon ground floor in favour of up stairs with its one entry way - i.e. the stairs.

2) Fill the bathtub and sink with water as an emergency backup should the water be cut.

3) Stockpile food upstairs.
a) Move all no-fridge-based foods upstairs as they'll keep even if power is cut.
b) Try and move the fridge upstairs so as to provide food storage - if the power is cut, I have to eat the food in their fast.

4) Move some of the sharpest knives I can find upstairs as emergency anti-zombie or anti-looter weapons.

5) If time remains, check the garage for buckets and if found, take them upstairs and fill with more water.

6) Move the heaviest of the house furniture to block off the stairs, or at least block it off to zombies who lack mind-body coordination.

7) If I still have a way to the ground floor, check the freezer for anything that can be defrosted in a microwave and take upstairs (also take microwave).

8) Prepare an emergency escape route - I'm thinking a rope of sheets (Mythbusters showed that works) with a bed mattress as a landing softener in the event of my falling.

erm...not that I put much thought into it...

Anyway, I'm also located in Florida - were there are fucking hurricanes everywhere.
We have plenty of plywood to cover the windows.
And since we have so much, we could even layer it.
Is plywood enough to protect from the living dead though? I'd have thought they'd punch through it rather easily. Though you could make a sort of slide so that the living dead (who have no sense of balance) can't climb up the sloop.

Well I live in a flat on the 3rd floor... I guess I'd just lock the door and continue playing games?

Empty my attic. Go to the supermarket down the road. Put lots of food, books, magazines and games in a trolley and take it back to my house. Then take it up to my attic, along with my TV, PS3 and new games, some lamps, lots of bulbs, a razor, some knifes, some cutlery, my clock which has the date and time, my airsoft rifle and LOTS of metal pellets, a makeshift bed and porn. Then barricade my doors and windows with something, then go up into the attic and pull the ladder up. I would also make a hole in the roof just small enough for me to peak out of and shoot at zombies with my airsoft rifle. Done.

You'd want to board/barricade as best you could. Not just from zombies but from your neighbors or assholes looking for trouble. Keep it quiet and wait for it to die for a couple of weeks. You'll be more likely to be killed by other people at first.

Or, I'd commit suicide. Zombies scare the hell out of me.
Hence the L4D picture.

I'd dig a trench, push sofas up to the doors and then establish a sniper deck on the roof. I can put my deerhunting arrows to good use.

Slick the stoop in front of the apartment with enough cooking oil to fry two sacks of potatoes and stack the entrance with air conditioners. If I need to go out, jump out the first floor window.

I live in an apartment complex, and I'm surrounded by rich college kids going to private universities on their parent's dime. Thankfully, they are the prime target, and would distract and satiate the zombie horde such that I could climb to the roof with a tub of Crisco. Though, it seems lately that government accountants, fatties, and gamers might be more of the prime target now... crap.

If the zombies are incredibly strong, than i would lock all my doors and windows and tear apart my dining room table and nail the doors and window blinds shut. If they aren't that strong, i would just need to lock my doors and nail my two backyard gates shut.

if i could choose between moms or dads place, id take my dads. get my mom over here before danger is too close, empty the supermarket around the corner (about 50 feet away), ladder (id prefer a rope one), blow up the stairs.

then its just about waiting for the zombies to starve out.

Put stuff in front of the door, I live in a flat on the second floor. Hunker down for a week or two- ration what tinned food I have. Be quiet, no lights etc. Exercise. And wait for it to freeze over. then leave and go look for others, while the zombies are frozen. Probably go to my university (its an old castle basically) and join the others. Prepare for summer. rinse, repeat until we take back the planet.

I would get lots of soil, an axe, and fruit/veggie seeds. I would go home and put all the soil into one room, after I use the axe to demolish the stairs. Then I would bust open the roof to let some fresh air and light in for the seeds which I will plant in the soil.

As long as I got lots of canned food to eat while my garden grows, I should be fine.

EDIT: It seems I am not the only one who read the Zombie Survival guide..

I live in a flat on the 3rd floor of my building so the windows are under no threat of zombie attack however the buildings front door whilst locked 90% of the time has glass panels so I'd have to somehow block that off as well as the ground floor flats windows...

Luckily there is a "random stuff" storage room 5 seconds from the front door with a lot of metal and wood sheets in it, so that'll be good for barricading the windows and doors on the ground floor :)

My flats door is solid oak so is a fairly good barrier, but the locks would probably give in after a lot of outside beating, so I'd reverse my door so it opens outwards... Harder to kick/punch/swarm it open that way :p
