That was nice, thanks for posting it.
I might be a little over the age they were aiming at but still nice to hear someone with a voice of hope.
Cheers :)

I read the article yesterday.

I think it's great to finally see an article that cuts back on the whole "life sucks" gloom that seems to plague the internet.

Yeah, it doesn't help. Having no qualifications, no credentials, no transferrable skills, no work experience worth talking about, a job which you're holding onto by the skin of your teeth and the knowledge that you're a charlatan and a wastrel really doesn't help convince you that life will ever get better.

I'm at the nadir of my existence. If I were to be run down today by a car, I'd consider it the greatest mercy.
oh its you again...

are you some kind of troll? like in reverse?

The message behind that article is solid gold.

Just go for it. Life is awesome if you want it to be.

That's what I got from it, and damn it if it isn't true. Taking the opportunities and going for it will make your life better.

I'm a British-born guy who took an opportunity. Want to know where I'm living now?

China.

Coming here was possibly the best decision I've ever made. Before coming here I had no real job experience, just a borderline useless degree. When I'm finished here and go somewhere else, I'll have a solid body of work under me, new skills, a wider worldview and I'm considerably further along my emotional path than when I started.

I'm Amethyst Wind, and I have pan- I mean I fully endorse this message.

Oh hey there, I quoted you on this article yesterday. Small internet.

If you really have that attitude, then don't even bother to look for help. A whiny attitude that doesn't get you anywhere is not going to help anything, and if you keep that attitude up, you don't deserve a break.

One of the few absolute truths of life; if you are determined to hate yourself/situation, you will hate yourself/situation.

Seriously? I couldn't even get the mercy to get born with good parents and I fight every day to survive on this horrible planet and hope I get killed by first best random asshole. But the text still give me a little inspiration to stop being a lowlife scum with good grades... maybe even I can make something good? Thanks for posting that comrade, it have given me a little needed inspiration.

I visit Cracked.com with the same frequency as I visit this website. Several times daily. So I had already read that article.

My view of my own future in life is pretty crap, but not because of the things he talked about; so it didn't really inspire me or give me hope.

I still enjoyed reading it though.

I read this yesterday. It seems like he's projecting his life experience onto everyone else in most of the points.

It actually lifted my hopes up when I read it last night, only for them to come crashing down again this morning. I'm gonna chalk my ability to go from feeling happy to feeling blue due to me being a late bloomer when it comes to puberty XD.

OT: Yea life is bound to get better at some point in time and considering that it isn't too bad right now I've got nothing absolutely nothing to worry about..... even though that's exactly what I do..

A happy thread saying that life really isn't that bad? Surely not. It's certainly a refreshing change from all the angst that gets thrown around

I still know a world filled with kids saying they'll shoot everyone because they disagree.
Anywho, it's a nice article, and I especially agree with the "high school is NOT the best time of your life". Because that's certainly fucking true.

How surprisingly uplifting, thanks for that. Still not in a good mood, still can't do anything, still feeling suffocated...but nice to be reminded there's a light at the end of the tunnel, even if that light is mostly comprised of trivial sparks.

You're not going to get anywhere with that expirience. Get your head out of the ground and start working on improving your situation. Unless you try, NOTHING will change. Your life is yours, so do your damned hardest to fix it.

If you're just going to mope around and feel bad for yourself and your crappy life, then nothing is ever going to change and you know that. The universe isn't just going to hand you a better life.

Pessimism always leads to things getting worse. I learned this the hard way. If you want to accomplish something other than crying on the internet, I'd suggest you start working for it.

You gotta take life by the cans.
