Yeah, it doesn't help. Having no qualifications, no credentials, no transferrable skills, no work experience worth talking about, a job which you're holding onto by the skin of your teeth and the knowledge that you're a charlatan and a wastrel really doesn't help convince you that life will ever get better.

I'm at the nadir of my existence. If I were to be run down today by a car, I'd consider it the greatest mercy.
Attempting to bury ourself in your misery is only going to leave you more down than before, even if it takes a conscious effort to smile when you see the sun rise for no better reason than the hell of it, go for it. Time spent moping and being negative is time wasted.
What if you do get hit by that car, tomorrow? Will you think as you are dying on a stretcher "That went well, I did all I could, made something out of life, made other's lives better, now where are the bloody paramedics?" Doesn't sound like it. If you can't say that for at least something in life, then you are doing it wrong!

No-one here cares if you have to be crazy to enjoy your life and make other's lives more enjoyable, so long as you do. It is better to have lived an insane life to its fullest and without complaint then to live a sane and easy life only half-way and complaining about every problem. It is not a problem until you let it be, it only starts out as an obstacle. You make it a problem. Now go find a solution. For everything you can, you will feel better simply for trying.

Interesting... Yea, I'm always relaxed and don't worry about what other people think. Cos like he said "Fuck Em!". When growing up your parents are hiding you from the bad things that happen in the world, leading them to think they can ride rainbows everywhere and shit out money out there ass. But when you find the end of the rainbow the pot of gold is not there, suddenly hearing about all the bad things going on in the world and the suffer of depression makes you become an emo. Entil you realize your not thinking straight because its not as bad as it seems. The news is doing the opposite of what your parents are doing. Hiding the good news because people only want to hear about criminals and gangs so they can avoid them, its rather an act of fear. The good thing about freedom is that you can do whatever you want within the boundaries of the law. If you get arrested for something or get high in dept then that was your decision its just the price you have to pay for denting the universe.

Oh, you. :)

You're what brightens up my day. Just, threads of a topic like this come up, or a depressing relationship thread, and you come in with your happy little posts. You just make this forum worth visiting, you do. Thank you, so much, for being a happy little bundle of sunshine and joy. :)

But seriously. I know heaps of people have already said this to you, but with that view of life you're not gonna get anywhere better. If all you'll do is sit there and mope around about how bad your life is and how dying is a mercy, you won't get anywhere. And as one person said, if you're at the nadir of your existence, it kinda has to get better at this point, because it can't really get a lot worse.

OT: In relation to the Cracked article, I read it the other night. Cheered me up, I must say.

Already saw this article. The portion about how you WILL find someone was most meanningful to me, as I have always had doubts when it came to love.

Seriously? I couldn't even get the mercy to get born with good parents and I fight every day to survive on this horrible planet and hope I get killed by first best random asshole. But the text still give me a little inspiration to stop being a lowlife scum with good grades... maybe even I can make something good? Thanks for posting that comrade, it have given me a little needed inspiration.
If you're going to have that self-defeating attitude do us a favor and don't pollute the rest of us with it.
I don't give a fuck, if it bothers you don't read it and you don't need to speak for others, let them speak for themselfs.

Been around for like 3 decades on this world, so I gotta say, with excessive sugarcoat btw:
This is a load of crap, that guy just got lucky, very fucking lucky.
Well if he is to be believed; he's a recovering alcoholic who had an abusive childhood and has been living on the brink of homelessness for quite a while. I wouldn't call that lucky. Like, at all.

are you some kind of troll? like in reverse?
No, he's just a person in a major depression doing what people like that do; crave attention and acceptance, even if he doesn't know it. You can't do anything for him until he pulls his head out of his ass, truly accepts the fact that he's fucked up and decides that it's time to look for some help to change that. Harsh? Yeah, but sadly true. I should know, I was in that situation.

Didn't you graduate from UCC or something? That seems like a pretty good qualification to me, seeing as it's in the top 1% of colleges worldwide. Of course, women are all slatterns and your cranium is asymmetrical, so you're pretty much doomed, eh?

It's a great article. John Cheese is a pretty admirable guy [read his pieces on quitting alcohol and tobacco], and that article really cheered me up when I read it. I'm going through quite a shitty patch at the moment, so it helped quite a lot. The stalwarts of the PWOT community are generally awesome people.
