#1: The point of Jesus was to take the immense punishment piled up by humanity (and the future of humanity) on himself so that we don't need to suffer it. On top of physical punishment, God the father turned his back on Jesus because in that moment he had become the crux of all sin. Jesus came first to explain how people had already been told about what he was there to do, and to be a pure sacrifice. It's the same thing as when Hebrews would sacrifice an animal, it was to place their sin on it and there it was punished and they were free.

Yeah but if you think about it, that's the complete opposite of justice. Justice is when people suffer for their own wrongdoing. If a murderer was arrested, they couldn't just kill some random guy off the street and it would be okay, they would kill the murderer.

#2: The death part wasn't necessarily the scope of the punishment, one of the apostles (I can't remember which) says Jesus went to hell before he was resurrected.

So, here's what I don't get. Supposedly if you're gay, you'll burn in Hell regardless, but if you encompass all of the current sin, you get let out for good behavior? Sounds a little screwed up to me XD

Also, not to be incredibly ignorant, but if you were to hold Mary's story to today's standard, it'd be pretty obvious that she cheated on Joseph. At this point we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that a baby can't be conceived without a sperm.

Fair enough, but I don't see why there are certain groups of people that are shunned by God. Why would God (and I know I keep reusing this example) create homosexuals if he... well, didn't like homosexuals? If he's capable of taking away life as easily as he gives it, why not just artificially select gays? Or he could do what he did before and flood the planet because he made a mistake lol

How come when he was executed it was all just kind of said and done? Also, it wasn't until roughly 200 years after his execution that Christianity became a religion. Go figure XD
