HUnh... kinda adds a new meaning to the phrase, "real men where pink" you could probably follow it up with, but only chuck norris men get stabbed by it.

Oka, I'll stop. Thats not how I really feel about it anyway. And its better then my uncle, who'd jut tell me to get up and stop my bitching and bleeding (marines are fun to grow up around).

So, first, I'll say this:
I sincerely hope that this boy is oka and lives and it all works out for him. This is a horrible thing to hear, and in today's day and age, this is horrible.

Secondly I'll say this:
For once its not in America. So, while its bad to see this happen, its good to see the rest of the world has their share of problems with youth society and attitudes towards whats "gay."

Thirdly:
I'm sorry, nothing really against Sweden, but seriously, what the hell? At preschool? I mean, does the country have such a hate for gays that its this embedded and expressed at such a young age? What does this say for the youth and for the future (of anywhere really) that this happens? That thinks like this, or.. or rape... or... or any of that jazz happen at such young ages to young people. I dont know, I just dont want to see a future where kids teach their kids this who teach their kids this, etc. and it gets worse and more common place. I mean, really? "small incident?" Whats a large incident, they just gut the kid right in the middle of the class room and piss on his corpse?

Fourthly:
I know its weird to say... but I'm proud of the parents. Dont blame them, blame the damn kids who hurt the other one, blame the society for not doing anything to prevent this, and blame the gay hate their is in the world for a people that in all regards really arent hurting anyone to practice their beliefs. Im glad these parents are letting their kid express himself, and not telling him this is evil or something he shouldnt be doing. Good on you parents and I applaud you. your son shouldnt have to change just cause society demands it.

I dont know, I guess its just me being foreign and not living in Sweden, so not living in its system. I would like to ask the Swedish Escapists if this is how Sweden actually works, because if so, I truly weep for your country. There's a different between "making your kids tough" and just outright hate. Stuff like this should never happen anywhere, and if its the social norm, well... I dont know. I just dont think its a good country to be dictating much of anything I suppose. Not to hate on Sweden. If there was anywhere else, I would feel the same way. I just hope that this can start to make some kinda social change where this becomes unacceptable and more then "small incident" that the teachers and staff dont seem to think is anything.

Dos: There is a thing you can do, throw the bullies ass out of there. Seriuously, the bully is not the victim here, I've seen far to many times where the victim is being harassed by the teachers as they were the offender. Seriously, that's not okay. We are never to accept bullying, ever.
Agreed, victim blaming is very popular, and, oddly enough, doesn't help much.

I don't know... maybe the article is just very poorly translated but "stabbed with a blunt knife in the neck" just sounds like... "poked with a butter knife in the back of his neck, but we like to overdramatise shit".

I don't know. The whole thing sounds fucked and I'm tempted to say the kids' parents should've known better (sorry, but the world IS a place filled with assholes), but I don't have children and don't know how hard it is to tell your little one it can't wear certain stuff or be quiet about the stuff it likes. Probably very.
It was a table knife that poked through the skin and left a mark.

Well, the whole "I like pink, nails and ballet" is kinda bully-worthy.

But why stab because someone likes the Polish? He has a problem with us, or what?

Or grow 10 inches, fatten up and grow a beard. Or a mustache.

[sarcastic tone]US Military intervention is needed in that school. A quick ground war will solve that problem...

[serious tone] But really, I think being bullied is one thing, being fucking stabbed is something that the school should fucking fix NOW! Stabbing is beyond being bullied, thats fucking assault with a (not quite) deadly weapon.

I'm sorry. I laughed at the thread title. You may want to consider changing that, as it looks vaguely like something from The Onion.
On topic: Kids have the capacity be creepily cruel, and schools can only do so much to prevent that. As insensitive as it may have sounded, the school authorities may have had a point. Minimise the reasons for bullying, and you won't get bullied. It's a horrible way for the world to work, but it takes the strength of having grown up to really make a stand against it.

I think it's funny (in a sick kind of way) how much color matters even though color doesn't exist. Some people might call me retarded for that statement, but it's true. There is no such thing as color. A tree is not brown, plants are not green, his shirt was not pink, people's skin isn't brown. Color is just our way of seeing reflectivity. Some animals see only shades of grey, some animals use sonar, echolocation, antennae, scent. Are they just less perceptive than us? Well, no.

Now, with that said, it looks like Sweden has some homophobia issues it needs to put aside. You can't even tell if somebody is gay when they're 6 years old. How about you just let the kid like what he wants to like?

Normally I just let people believe what they believe, but if your belief system says that homosexuality is wrong, immoral, weird, unnatural, evil, etc. then your belief system is wrong. I don't care if you were bullied as a kid, I don't care if it's just "the culture," I don't care if the church says so, the bullies, culture, and church are all wrong. I'm not saying those things are always wrong (although... the earth is flat, the sun orbits the earth, the earth is the center of the universe, disease is caused by demons (then, after that, cursed air), evolution never happened, man coexisted with dinosaurs, there were witches, vampires, werewolves, and imps, slavery is okay, and finally [just off the top of my head] homosexuality is wrong. If they've been wrong about nearly everything else, why should that change now that they're saying that one person can be better than another just based on their sexual attraction? It shouldn't), but in this case it's unacceptable.

Gays are people, too. And probably stronger than the homophobes, since they have to deal with them left and right. Homophobes are just racists, except for some reason it's socially acceptable to be homophobic but not racist. Hating someone for their sexuality is just as ridiculous as hating them for the color of their skin.

TL;DR: Homophobes need to get over themselves, because being gay is not wrong. If you believe it's wrong, you're wrong.

Cannot the parents sue the bully AND the school?
Legal action is the best response for physical assault.
Bonus points if they get money from it.

Yeah, bullies suck, but if they're stabbing people with butter knives at 6, he'll stab people with a real knife at 14 (guess). Then it'll be on the news, the bullies parents will defend they're kid, and the victim's (who may may be dead) parents will say the bully deserves the death penalty.

If you get bullied, beat the shit out of them. Once they realise that you are a very violent kid who is easily pissed off, they'll leave you alone.

Pretty sure you can't sue 6-year olds, especially not for something like this. Don't think you can sue the school either for that matter.

OT: Kids are kids, but sounds like those teachers need training/replacing. Not stopping bullying, not informing the parents when their kid gets physically attacked with a knife (could just as well have been a sharp blade) and saying it's the kids own fault for wearing the wrong colour sounds bad. The last part is probably partially true, but it'd be better to stop the kids from bullying him over it than forcing him to wear another colour shirts imo.

Any kid who stabs another kid for whatever reason needs help. Or a smack upside the head.

And you Europeans say your countries are better than ours. Your have preschoolers that try to kill each other with knives and your schools don't give a fuck. Now while I know not all Europeans turn a blind eye to this sort of thing, I will say to the ones who do "I am a bisexual of Jewish descent who believes in Atheism and has no criminal record who has lived in America all his life saying "you are as bad as the rest of the human race, get over it!"

Oh yeah, I do feel sorry for the kid, hope he can learn the meaning of "in the closet" before he gets killed by preschoolers. Now while I have to say I don't know what he is going through, I will say I know people who know what he is going through, so your not the only one.
One bad incident in one European country and you're willing to condemn the entire of Europe. And you wonder why we hate America so much?

I say let the little pink bastard live his life happily.
My attention would be focused on the 6 year old sociopath that stabbed him.
That's why I'm going to make my child go through the same training my dad put me through when I was 9.
He got my cousin who was in the army at the time to toughen me up, all of a sudden I was a 9 year old kid who was 50kg and strong as hell, but I didn't attack people, I was very sweet.

But I would focus on the crazy kid, really? Stabbed him because he's different? Fuck.

I bet someone will find a way to blame videogames for all this.

This gives Sweden a bad reputation, even though these things aren't common in Sweden.

EDIT: I used to know a guy that used makeup, nail polish and wore pink. He was never bullied.
But he wasn't 6 years old.
