I had a similar experience with Diablo II some years ago.
I had discovered it, and went over to a friend's house who happened to have 2 PCs in the same room. I knew he was a big a fan of RPGs at the time, and we had played some Icewind Dale multi-player pretty recently with great success. Nothing could prepare us for the awesome.
I suggested that we fire it up multi-player. I had played maybe 1-2 hours of the game earlier in the week, prior to my purchase I didn't even hear about the game. We stumbled across possibly the greatest game of our time.
I arrived at his place at about 5pm, we started the game before 6pm. I rolled barbarian, he rolled necromancer. We were total noobs at the game, but man it was so FUN. Every time we killed a named or a boss we would spend ages talking over the loot and selling and gambling and all sorts.
We played solid until we finally defeated the Act 2 boss, then my friend said "Man, I'm really thirsty, wanna grab a drink?".
We went down stairs and saw the clock. "8am?!? We've been playing for... 14 HOURS?! WHAT THE FUCK?!?..." Once we realised the time, we became suddenly aware of how tired we were. We hadn't even gone for a pee in all that time (we had like 2 cans of coke each and had eaten while we were installing). Damn addictive game.
Never had such a long binge since, couple of other times at LAN we've played a game for 8 hours straight (except with pee breaks and drinks and such, even delivered pizzas to eat while playing).
TLDR; Sat down at 6pm, got up to get a drink at 8am. DIDN'T EVEN GO TO PEE OR EAT IN-BETWEEN. It was like we blinked and 14 hours passed.
