Civilization V. Just One More Turn...

I'll set out early on in the night and tell myself 'okay just conquer one little empire and then you're done' before I know it the mutual protection pacts have been triggered and I'm at war with the Byzantines, the Japanese and the Germans. Then it just spirals into me trying to get more diplomatic agreements so I'm not murdered. But that's Civ 3 for you.

Started playing God of War on Titan difficulty. Looked outside after beating Kronos and it was light. Was just like... shit.

as far as i'm concerned, spending 8 hours on a game is time well spent. i've done this several times, most recently with assassin's creed ii. it was just so much better than the first game, it was insane.

I stayed at my cousin's house in Virginia for a week a couple of summers ago, and every night we stayed up until 4 or 5 in the morning (doesn't really count as an all night nighter) playing Halo 3 multiplayer with either his friends or matchmaking. We would just betray our teammates enough to make them mad at us, but we were better than them and ended up getting booted about every game XD. Good times. Good times.

haha, for some reason there's a comic about this topic I instantly got reminded of by reading the topic headline xD

Any WoW-gamer who hasn't read about Flintlocke isn't a WoW-gamer! :p

Anyhow, for the topic at hand... I remember doing this with Mass Effect (1 and 2) when I got them, InFAMOUS, Valkyria Chronicles and Prototype. Those games are dangerously addictive...

Indeed. I finally found of copy of the game a few days back. Now to go find P3 somewhere and absorb even more of my life once I finish this one a couple times.

Thief 2 . . . when you get really into the atmosphere and game, and you're taking your time trying to ghost a map, it's easy for one mission to turn into a 2+ hr event. You quickly lose track of time and can pull off countless hours without noticing.

I did that with the first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game a while back, and then I passed out on the subway with my cousin.

I remember when Wrath of the Lich King came out I spent 44 straight hours levelling as fast as I could. I was so freaking tired by the end of that despite pumping caffeine and pasta into my system.

Oh my how I can recall myself doing that, though I really suck at ghosting. Haha. But ya. Thief 2 have kept me playing for really long hours. SOme FM's are just so HUGE!

I have spent many ours on other games as well however, sometimes when you just have nothing to do. I remeber one time when I played Morrowind from 10AM to 7PM. No life for the win!

Valkyria Chronicle sucked so much of my life away after all the reloads. That game takes so much time up
Hmm maybe not such a good idea I pick that one up then! Been meaning to ever since I played the demo however long ago it was that it came out. Really enjoyed it at the time.
Ahh!! No, you must buy it! Its awesome!

Also you can save on any turn so you can put it down whenever. I just didnt have anything importatn to do at the time.
Don't tempt me! Already got the likes of Wow sucking up my life! heh heh but still, spose i could pick it up pretty cheap these days....
You could also buy the PSP Sequel. then you can play it everywhere anywhere

I've wasted SO much time playing Minecraft lately.
It feels kinda bad, having spend all that time on a game, but on the other hand, I'm having fun, so whatever.

I remember me realising the sudden sunshine after playing NOX all night, same happened with Sacred, BF1942, several Heroes of Might and Magic Games and Mount and Blade.
