A lot of counseling and psychological aid to the children would be in order. At the age of nine, he is not old enough to understand the moral implications of his actions.

How would castrating help? That would keep him from developing correctly (if my knowledge of science is correct a lot, if not all, of the hormones that cause puberty are made in the testicles) which would mean he would go through most likely deformed. Stick him in a closed jail cell with no windows and a 40 year old pedophile and tell the 40 year old guy "no questions asked," and come back in a few hours. I think he'll have learned his lesson.

A crazy thought. For one of the extreem punishments perhaps he should be Neutered, (I think thats how it is spelt) give his balls the snip. Ouch! but it would serve him right.
It seems to me that everyone is jumping the gun, shouting DEATH and CASTRATION overmidst the people suggesting counciling. Maybe the reason the boy d his friend was because he was once d himself.
An action that violent in nature at his age would have to be learned, and it is possible that it was taught to him at a younger age. There are tons of s that aren't filed, and maybe a relative or someone close to him ordered him to keep his mouth shut. In some cases of ual abuse, the child actually begins to think that it is enjoyable, and then tries to replicate it with some of their friends. Add on top of that the Indian culture, where men are seen as superior to women. Maybe he saw his father beating his mother. He probably would see himself as better than s (most boys think that anyway), and when she didn't want to play his game, he beat her for it and did it anyway.
Plus, if he was d himself, he could be feeling inferior and wanting to exert some control over something smaller and weaker than himself, all because someone could have damaged his self esteem/ self control and awakened his drive.
And really, all these cries for chopping the kids balls off ought to have the same thing done to them. All of this 'eye for an eye' stuff really doesn't solve things, and often makes the problem a lot worse. Honestly people, grow up.

The whole thing is a sad tragedy. I do not know what the parents were thinking leaving their six year old child alone with another child...it is just not safe in any circumstances.
He will face around 5-10 years in jail, which is nothing compared to the psycological and physical suffering that poor girl will endure. Not to mention the stigma of rape in her own country. In the future, they might even be forced to marry

I'm surprised a 9-year old would be physically able to rape someone.
I won't say more since we get rather barbaric when it comes to rape. Don't get me wrong, rape is a terrible thing, but it seems we become a bunch of Rorschach-wannabees with things like this. I'll just let this quote say the rest:
