The only one that comes to mind is Stronghold one actually. A game that I really liked but didn't finish. Very last mission.

I still have half a ton of PS1 games from years ago that i have still never completed due to difficulty. I'm not the best of gamers but i swear that games such as Lego Racers and Croc were built top be unbeatable...

Off topic slightly - has anyone ever heard of Hogs of War for the PS1, it seems to be a game where I bought the only copy..
I agree with the fact that LEGO Racers is impossible to beat. Glad the sequel was a lot easier...

FFX the second to last boss was so dam hard for me that after I beat him I put down the controler and walked away from the game and i havent played it since.
I never finished this either. Mainly because Iknew Tidus was going to "die" and I couldn't be bothered playing the final part of the game only to have the character I was mwant to be identifying with get sacrificed...

Then I pre-ordered X-2 knowing this and never played it :)

Pulled X out again the other day. I might try finishing it this time!!

Couldn't beat the final Metroid Prime 2 boss because I didn't have all the ammmo expansions and crap. I disliked that game simply for imposing ammo-limitations on your beam weapons. Not cool guys.

There are plenty of other ones. Mario Galaxy, Most Zelda games (because I get bored of them too fast), etc, etc.

God, where to begin. Bioshock, Folklore, Infamous (though I did beat it but since I was missing one shard and wanted to find it I turned off the game before it saved. Since then, my HD crashed and lost all data), Katamari Forever, Lego Batman, Lego Star Wars, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Oblivion, Overlord 2, Fallout 3, Stranglehold, Enchanted Arms, Devil May Cry 4, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Paper Mario, New Super Mario Bros, Trauma Center, Tenchu Shadow Assassins, Zelda: Twilight Princess, FF VIII, FF XII, not to mention games I own but haven't even started yet like FF XIII and White Knight Chronicles. It isn't that I wasn't enjoying these games, but I just get sidetracked by the next new game too easily. Plus there's the countless PS2 games that also fell by the wayside. I am still working on FF XII though, almost done with it!

Got to the last boss but never finished Metroid Prime
Dammit, I tried to beat him just once and I got to within an inch of beating him and he killed me. I was like, meh, close enough, and started playing something.

Also, Final Fantasy VIII. I got to the very end, the final boss, and then I just kinda... moved on. Hell, I don't even know why. I didn't even try to fight that witch woman, can't remember her name now. I really should go back and finish it, but I'm sure I will one day, but I don't see that day coming any time soon.

EDIT:

Has anyone besides me finished a Pokedex?
I finished my Pokedex in Silver on GBC, including Celebi (traded from a friend though, not owned). Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Sadly, that was a long time ago. I just checked the same game about a month ago, and the little battery inside must have died, taking my save file with it. Alas, all good things must come to an end.

Quite a few games but, the one that bothers me at the moment.. Fallout 3.

On my first play through I was going along, really happy with how I'd set my guy up, how he looked, how I'd leveled him up, his weapons array etc, have been doing loads of side quests, going along well in the main story... then I decided I needed to format my C drive (the game being installed to D drive), not considering that the C drive was where the save files had been going. After I lost that first play throughs save I just couldn't get back into it like I did first time and still aint finished it !

I've never quite been able to finish the 2nd Paper Mario. Why? Its probably the only game I've ever played where they've actually made the final boss the hardest fight, which is pretty easy to do considering that it has turn based combat.

In Half Life the change in style of Zen made me loose interest and I never got around to finishing it. Occasionally I start again each time intending to finish the goram game but so far no such luck.

Final Fantasy X

I'll grind early on and half way through the game to make sure I'm of godly power when I reach the later bosses. Suddenly when I get to Mount Gagazet, all the monster are suddenly destorying me easily... I can't muster the effort to grind for hours more

Legacy of Kain. I was introduced to the series by my best friend and played through Soul Reaver 1 and completed that in the few weeks before the release of Soul Reaver 2. From there, I progressed to Blood Omen 2, while still searching for a working copy of Blood Omen 1.

Neither of the Blood Omen games has been completed and I got to the point of being really frustrated with the system and controls, as my reactions were not up to speed to get Kain to land on the top of a pillar surrounded by water. One false move leads me to either dropping into the water before the pillar, or stepping straight into the water on the other side.

I moved on to defiance and completed that game, thus leaving me with two issues - I have failed to play Blood Omen 1 and complete Blood Omen 2. The other issue is that the developers shelved this series in order to move back to Tomb Raider. I'm really disheartened about that, as Legacy of Kain is a really interesting tale, that I'd love to see how it ends, in all honesty. Will Kain ever rebuild the pillars and sacrifice himself to restore the balance? I guess we'll never know.

Both of the Assassins Creed games... I am at the final boss on both of them but both times I have just lost interest by then :/ And I can honestly say I probably will never complete them!

Banjo Kazooie.

Fuck you last (I think) level where you have to answer all the stupid questions on the game show puzzle board....thing, especially the ones where the answer you can only get by you talking to the witch's sister periodically through ought the game and write down what she says for this moment in the game, or face insta-death.
I actually got past that, and then failed to beat Gruntilda. I have 96/100 Jiggys, and I still haven't done it.
I didn't finish Banjo Tooie, either.

I've never beaten FF Crystal Chronicles. I've come desperately close, though, before losing interest.

I haven't finished Yoshi's Island DS, even though I'm incredibly close to completion.

LeafGreen - The only PKMN game (I've owned) I haven't finished. The nostalgia ran out quicker than expected.

I too, never fully completed DK 64. I got so damned close, but then i watched my brother finish it and lost interest.

I think that's all the games I've actually done a decent amount of before stopping. There are a few games I've bought and just flat-out not played - this depresses me greatly. I hate not giving something the time i want to give it - and the time it deserves.
