Heck, that happened to some of my all-time favorite games. Final Fantasy VII waited a long time for me to beat it, as did VI. Chrono Trigger... I'm at the end, and I freaking love the game, but I haven't played it in a while. Not sure why.

Maybe I shouldn't tell you this, but I've never even come close to halfway finishing the pokedex. I just pick out 6 pokemon to train and then kick the elite four's ass.

I haven't completed Arkham Asylum. There's just one thing I can't find. In Shadow Complex I have the same problem.
Noooooooo!!!!

Another one that I had faith in has let me down. I actually don't know you. sorry.

Has anyone besides me finished a Pokedex?
Yo.

Finished R/B/Y's and D/P's.

I've come close, on 4th gen!

I only have Deoxys, Shaymin, Darkrai and Arceus to go, and I've never hacked - I really want RBY, as they sound ridiculously easy in comparison to what I've done.

489, man!
I'm on route on 4th gen, but I was on a bit of a Pokemon hiatus in between Crystal and now Soul Silver (I got Diamond but didn't really play it). I'm a mite annoyed theirs a bunch of legendaries I'll find it difficult to get, but I'm hoping they'll all be given out in an event or something.

The original 150 weren't so hard - the link cable made trading unwieldy and something you had to plan for, which was probably the main problem. Oh, and it was more difficult to get the starters since you needed 3 friends all co-ordinating - this time round I just bread each starter in turn and traded it over Nintendo Wi-Fi for the next.

Also, the only game I haven't beaten is "I Wanna Be The Guy". Fucking thing was impossible.
Ahhh IWBTG isn't impossible, just annoying. I found it totally addictive to be honest - it took me like 1400 deaths but I enjoyed almost every one.

Have you ever owned a game enjoyed it well enough to play but you never finished it? i remember getting Donkey Kong64 and i still haven't beaten it which rreally bugs me. i mean its been over 10 years, 2 new game systems and i still haven't finished.

what game/s have you had a similiar experienece with?
Where did you stop in that game? I remember hitting a brick wall of fail when I realized the classic arcade thing was mandatory in order to continue the story. Could...not...win...

There are two many games in this category that I've experienced to really get into. For example, I've beaten Resident Evil 2 but, I have never completed the second half of the game. I don't remember beating Metal Gear Solid 2. Tiny Toon Adventures (SNES).

I didn't beat FFXIII until just a couple days ago. I got through 90% of it and stopped playing it for no reason. Same thing with a lot of my PS3 games. I picked up inFamous and Uncharted 1 a while back and I'm halfway through each. I'm halfway through Red Dead Redemption too, but I'm working on it. Same for Dead Space, which I should have beaten long ago.

I guess I have a problem staying focused on one game long enough to get through it. And I usually end up playing multiplayer games more often. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to sit down and finish a game when my friend texts me and tells me to come play Bad Company 2. It drives me crazy sometimes.

Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon.

Finished the game I just can't be arsed trying to get 117% completion. Yes 117%. This is one of those games with a bonus world that adds on to the percentage rather than being part of the intial 100%.
My god I hated the 117%, but that was one of my- is one of my all time favourite games.

I remember being unable to find the last gem on the last homeworld (the final gem I needed) for weeks.

Then I found out that Sparx could just point to it if I held the shoulder buttons.
So... Much... Rage.

OT: Fallout three, loved it, never even finished the main story. Just loved exploring too much.

Oh, and yes, I have completed the national Pokedex as far as possible (without the event pokemon) Which was 489- or something.

Happened in a few games, but most notably Psychonauts and Final Fantasy 8 and 9.

Final Fantasy 8 and 9 I just never wanted them to end. Spent soo many time playing them (this was when I was younger and hadn't spent over 900 hours on TF2 and 200 on Bad Company 2, before I had internet and those games even existed), and just didn't want them to end... Eventually I simply forgot HOW I could end them... Ain't that sad?

Psychonauts was just a spectacularly rage inducing moment as my HDD died when I was in the very last boss. I was in the very final sequence. My HDD died. My saves along with it.

Gran Turismo 2. I put endless amounts of hours into that game, but it was way too hard to get the superlicense - I only had 2/3 more special races to do for it. There were also some very long endurance races to do also.

Nope. I usually filled 75% to 80% of it before I got bored and started a new game, which I did about four times with Pokémon Yellow.

This game is REALLY dating myself, but to this day I have never finished Zork1, its the only game I regret never finishing, I never could find all those damned treasures and put them in the case

I am pissed that I have not yet fully completed GTA 3 or Driv3r. I got much of the way through them but both got... misplaced... *cough*[small]stolen[/small]*cough* before I could complete them.

I would have said Vandal Hearts 2 but I finally completed my 'Eleanor [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.143227-Your-Eleanor]' a few of years ago.
Same here for GTA 3, but only because it, like all GTAs, won't let you know when you're about to shut off access to a mission forever. In my case it was the final phone booth mission in Portland. Now my Liberty city will never have ice cream trucks driving around because of it. Grrr

Oblivion. I don't know why but I've just never gotten around to finishing it. It is even in my to do pile.
aah same here. I've played through most of the game on various different saves but have never achieved 100%. Mostly because of glitches and bugs braking my saves =(

I still need to finish the last boss fight in Killzone 2, I'm not even halfway in James Cameron's Avatar (it's just way to boring) and I still have couple of PS2 games I didn't even start playing yet.

3 people? i can do it with 2, just have one restarting a bunch of times 'till you have them all.

And in Rayman DS/The Great Escape, wasn't it only possible to get 99.9%? Razorbeard eats one of the lums, damn him!
Ahhh no thats a totally cheap method ^^ And requires a lot of foresight for 8 year olds who got the game on Christmas. The eeveelutions where a bit of a pain to get together as well - the last Pokemon I got was a Flareon.

If I remember correctly, I never finished The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap because I couldn't get through the final castle, or something.
It was awhile ago, don't really remember.
