A Breaking World ((Chapter 2: An Enlightened Path))

"Don't worry about me, I've had worse injuries than this in the past." Jason said, standing up and stretching his back. It hurt, but they were just minor injuries compared to what his shoulder had been.

He would need to treat his wounds after the battle. Although the demon had healed his shoulder, he still didn't like magic and preferred to be healed by bandages and time.

I was very tempted to make Jason say, "Its just a flesh wound"... but I refrained from doing so. =P

 

[Fallen-Angel Risen-Demon]

'Thunder!'
Muhnat pointed his sword at a fatwa and a bolt of lightning hit it. He then charged at it to slash it but it recovered and pounced him.
'Agh! Get it off!'
He began punching it with his metal hand.

Jason heard Munhat's cry, and looked over to see another Fatwa clinging onto Munhat, scratching him. Jason did the only thing he could to save Munhat, Jason grabbed his blade and threw it straight at the Fatwa. The blade spun through the air, making a low whistling noise as it flew.

Jason didn't look to see if it hit, instead he grabbed his bow from it's quiver, and beginning to fire at the Fatwa's circling him.

NorthernWind growled, Finally, targets! He charged the one attacking Muhnat, slamming his shoulder into the beasts head, A solid tackle. He drew his knife, and began to circle. He snarled, waiting for the fatwa to make a stupid move, or for Muhnat to get up and fight back.

 

[Zirat]

Chreos was highly tempted to let the Fatwa finish it's job, he didnt trust Muhnat. But he decided that everyone was needed if they were going to properly stop the demons Bleeding hearts of the world unite... he though as he charged the Fatwas on top of Muhnat, already wounded from a thrown knife but still attacking, and shoved it off of him and stabbed it in the chest.

In it's death throes it's long tail whipped up and struck him diagonally across the face, Chreos recoiled and shouted in pain.

NorthernWind turned, trying to designate himself a new target. It was an easy and won battle. He relaxed,
"If anyone has any deep wounds, or broken anything, let me see it before you try a spell."

 

[One Seven One]

Repel noticed the Fawta surrounding Jason and raised his staff as he did before "I haven't tried this one yet, Frostshock!" And with three small icicles,the size of one's hand, manifested in the air with sparks of electricity surrounding them, they flew with great speed towards the Fawta, one nicked one of them in the side and crashed in to the ground, one missed another's leg, and one hit another in it's side.

sparks flew from the icicles and shocked some of the Fawta.

Repel, however, didn't notice one of the bigger adult Fawta sneaking up behind him, hoping to get an unexpecting target.

 

[Fallen-Angel Risen-Demon]

Muhnat jumped up.
'Thanks.'
He said it to noone in particular.
He picked up his sword and slashed a nearby Fatwa in the head it yellped and jumped back:
'Fear!'
Muhnat put his hand up in the air and a black shadow appeared in it.
All the Fatwa wimpered and ran off.
'I'm glad that's over, it was taking a while.'

"DAMN IT! You spoil all the fun!" Everett whined.

"If you say so." replied Alicia towards Jason, rolling her eyes while helping him stand up. Seeing as Jason wasn't too fit to fight at full potential, she stood by his side him took out both of her daggers.

"Hey,try not to overexert yourself so much!" She yelled out, evading an swipe from one of the creatures and counter attacked with a powerful kick to it's stomach. The fatwa yelped and fell onto it's back, where Alicia quickly vaulted on top of it and sliced it's throat.

The rest of them ran away, seeing as there was no way for them to win.

"Aww, I only got 2 kills." whined the slightly scratched girl, raising her fingers in indication of how many she has slain. She spotted one more fatwa, was too injured to run away.

"Scratch that. Make it three." and she walked over to the downed creature, stabbing it in the head.

 

[Zirat]

Chreos wiped his face with his hand and pulled it back to see some sort of dark liquid, he stared at it in confusion for a moment before realizing it was his own blood, and that his face and arm were partially covered in it. He smiled as some old, twisted memories resurfaced and cleaned his hand on the grass.

"Anyone got a spare rag or anything? Nothing too major, just a mess" he asked to anyone willing to listen

"Here's one," Everett said passing chreos a rag, "What are you smiling at?"

 

[Zirat]

"Dead day's, nothing but dead days" he said still with a distant smile taking the rag and cleaning himself up with it.

"heh. keep the rag." Everett said walking back to the group.

"Lets go!"

When the last Fatwa disappeared from the battlefield, Jason nodded to himself and put his bow back into its quiver. It was a bow specially made by Talon, given to Jason as a coming-of-age ceremony.

He limped away from Alicia, grabbing his arrows from the dead Fatwa's and finding his sword buried in the chest of another Fatwa. His throw had been off, having missed his target and hitting another one behind Muhnat instead. He wiped the blade clean of blood with his cloak, and placed it back into it's sheath.

He then walked a little ways away from the others, grabbing a few bandages from his bag and wrapping his wounds with them. His entire upper torso was covered in bandages, his left leg was partially covered, and his left shoulder got wrapped in some bandages too, even though the blood had stopped and only wound remained, sealed as it was.

His body ached, but he'd been through worse and he would pull through this just like everything else he had survived through.

Those creatures are unlike anything I have ever fought before. They seemed faster than normal wolves, smarter too... are these the kinds of beasts we will encounter on our journey? Jason thought to himself.

He looked over to the group to see them bandaging themselves up as well. Some had sustained quite a bit of damage, others not so much.

 

[Sliverwings]

Kyu-Ya watched the others get rid of the attacking monsters and nodded to himself. It was good that the others could fight, he didn't want to at the time. He casually walked to the group with a smile, not a scratch, and not a drop of blood on him. There wasn't anything he could offer for his wounded allies, he was skilled in Earth-Based Black Magic definatly not White Magic.

"So, is everyone ready to leave?"

Ah well, everyone seems to get the hang of the battles. Good work.

Evela looked around, he had spent most of the time defending the stick, only having to stop a few, and only wounding them. As all of the Fatwa's fled, he dropped the Totem back into the ground. He sighed, and raised his hands, "We Can't start off like this" he said to himself, as his hands began to pulse, sending a small wave that bent the air around it outwards. As it hit peoples wounds, it began to heal them, not instantly, but would speed up the process.

"I can't heal you all fully, I am still tired from the resurrection spell." he remarked as he picked up the stick again.

Nathair looked up, he had been absent during the fight, choosing not to fight this battle. He looked at the still smouldering town. A young girls voice pierced the air, causing him to run towards it. As he got close to the bushes, one last Fatwa came out of them, tearing a hole into his neck. He lay on the ground, bleeding out, his life flowing out of him.

The dot on his hand, grew larger and larger, quickly engulfing his hand. As his hand became black, it rose up his entire body, turning everything on him black. As it reached his head, he began to sink into the ground, his body flaking apart, turning to ash.

if nathair is killed off, can my friend join, or is it too late?

"DAMN IT! EVELA!" Everett screamed.

This will be harder than i thought. it will be easy for him to come back, but if it happenes soqickly, we're screwed!

"What?" Evela asked, "I didn't do anything. He was dead before I could help... Well... More dead...". He shrugged, there really was nothing he could do. He was to tired to cast another powerful spell that would make him rise again. "Losses happen" he explained.
