Me? Fuck no. I abide no form of crime. I will tolerate no form of breaking and entering. The sanctity of ones home is key. And any man who would break that sanctity and seek to rob a person is not worthy of life.
And I'll never quite wrap my mind around that. It really is an alien way of thinking to me. I would say than nothing material is worth a life.
Now, if me or my family was threatened I'd react otherwise, but as long as it's just a burglar I'd just get out of his way. I'm insured for a reason.

But I recall this same discussion in a threat about gun laws a while back, so I won't go further into it. Unless I think of something important.

First, I'd call 911 (112 up here.), then I'd try and sneak up on him with a knife.

Rack my shotgun and order him on the ground with his hands on his head. If he complies, I will call 911. If he comes at me or makes any threatening movements towards me, I'll feed him a buckshot sandwich.

Realistically speaking, I would start screaming like a maniac and run away.

Fantastically speaking, I would beat him up with my own bare hands, and when the
cops come I'd look into the camera and say: "Don't do drugs kids!"

I have a gun in a little quick key lock box near my bed. (its a finger press code) Id blow his ass away. No if ands or buts. He will die. I am not going to aim for the legs or arms. He/she is going to die.

Well I have seen this thread before and again I would go against the genieva convention, most thieves want money and rarely want to kill you. This thread should be locked.

I sleep with a knife by my bed because I'm paranoid, the go and spy him. If he's too big to take then I'll just call 999, but if he looks weak enough to handle I can try and knock the bastard out and then later kill him and get away with it, after the fun torture.

I would flip the switch beside my bed that puts my house into a lockdown, go into my private bunker and scare the crap out of him with my in-house speaker system by saying some real nasty stuff like, say, "I want to play a game". Then I'd laugh like a maniac and come out in my fully armed mecha and beat him to death.

This actually happened to a friend of mine. He says he heard some one upstairs when he was home sick from school so he started walking up stairs with a baseball bat. As he was sneaking up the stairs he heard the guy talk to someone else, so he slow backed the fuck down the stairs went out the basement door and called the cops from a neighbors house like a sensible person.

When the cops came it turned out to be a friend of his older brother and he had a backpack full of video games and jewelry.

I would see how many bullets a person can take before they bleed out or the police get there
And then you would go to jail for murder, if they don't show intent to kill you its murder not self defense.

Most theives do want money, but the question is whether they are willing to hurt you so that they don't get caught. Maybe yes, maybe no, but I'm not going to trust my life in the hands of someone who has already broken the law and violated my home.

That's why I said above I would display my potential use of force in an attempt to subdue him. If he complies or runs, fine. If he decides to risk it and come at me, he's a dead man.

And no, this thread should NOT be locked just because you have a different viewpoint. If that were the case, we wouldn't have many threads now would we?

Well thats twisting my words to an 8th grade lv... What I meant and should have said is that this thread should be locked NOT because of my view but because it seems more like disscusing what we do to hurt someone. If this actually happens I'll run next door and call the cops. If not... I'll swallow my gameboy for safe keeping.

I always have my bow and some alluminum arrows next to my bed. Frankly, assuming he hadn't noticed me first, I'd shoot him with my bow.

I don't exactly have much weaponry in the house, if they are armed, I would likely try to get outside the house, (after getting help of course,) if I see their car, well their tires are gone! If I can get to the garage, I can get my bow, and if they aren't armed they either stop and get down, or I put an arrow in their kneecaps.

Realistically speaking, I'd probably bean him in the nadgers. Then call 999. Or do it in reverse order. Pushing something down the stairs onto him/pushing HIM down the stairs would be rather more violent than I'm used to.
