A countdown has been found in the valve ARG.

It points to 9am PST on Friday the 15th.

As you can see it is on the aperture science official website so it is official.

No, not an early release. Valve aren't known for releasing games early. Quite the opposite.

Yeah, the potato sack is essentially a big lead up to an early release for Portal 2. The Timer corresponds to the release date found earlier in the ARG as well.

Edit: Well, apparently we won the ARG http://pastebin.com/k37AwLX1

Maybe its a countdown to their next delay. A delay to their delay? now that would be something.

QUICK, EVERYONE CALL IN SICK FOR FRIDAY! Say you have.. tuber flu or something. If there is even a POSSIBILITY that it releases at 7 AM tomorrow, I sure as hell am not going to be left out!

If no one goes to work, they can't catch us all!

Damn this timer for being on American time. For me it's already Friday morning, and this thing is 15 hours away. Now I need to find another excuse to skip uni.

This is still not an early release.

Whatever goes down on the 15th, even if it is Portal 2, is not early- this game has already been delayed twice!

... that said, I can't wait to see what it is :D

ETA: And if it's an early release, hopefully it'll be for all versions. ... otherwise, I'm gonna have to kiss the internet goodbye for a few days.

ETA2: On the wiki... does anyone else get a G-Man vibe from 'The Watcher's' messages?

Not trying to state the obvious, but chances are this isn't an early release.... Except for Steam users.

Follow me, if you will, considering its got T.v> spots that say the 19th, and chances are stores aren't going to play along with this game, so they'll probably sell it on the 19th... like its supposed too, however, one place that many people will get Portal 2 from is Steam, and they could release it early for those who have preordered it, that'd make sense, and then its not technically a release, its more of a preview... or a demo... hey the countdown could be to a demo too...

Except that you did state the obvious....

Digital distribution is superior anyway

The game having been delayed means very little. If they new from the outset that they'd be delaying the game, they would have factored that into their release date.
