A fight scene synchronized to the music. Any good example?

A Hermit's Cave
Away from comedy/parody (I tend to regard comedy fights with a certain ambivalence), this was the first thing that came to mind...

Many of the fight scenes in The Matrix films could possibly qualify for this.

Keep in mind that i need to know at LEAST if the made the music FIRST and then the fight choreography based on it. I think that its only possible if someone happens to know a director commentary that just happens to reveal that an escene was made as such.
Well, Rob Dougan made Furious Angels in 1998-2001, most of the tracks used in the Matrix Trilogy composed independently well before production. So, while the feel of the track definite fits the fights (Neo vs Myriad Smith notwithstanding) the rhythm matches at times, but is largely coincidental (helped along by good editing).

For a serious fight-scene where the music fits the fight perfectly, I can only think of one: Jen vs Shu Lien (unarmed) in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The problem is that it's pure percussion so I don't think it really counts.

Strange, no one has pointed out the spelling error in the title yet.
Apart from missing an 's' at the end, where's the error?

Well, good editing CAN be a way to time the hits with the music.............but what happens if the director tries a LONG TAKE? I know this example i am going to put ISNT exactly something that combines music and fight like i said earlier, but just to think the possibilities makes water come out of my mouth..

It's been fixed, it was a horrendous misspelling of synchronize.
Yeah, English isnt my first language and i am using another computer rather than mine to write this.

The tony example didnt work but the Sherlock one it seems that it has been edited to match up, its ok but most of the examples (the good ones) are mostly fights done with clever editing rather than one long take (like the Chaplin one) or fluent animation (like the Tom and Jerry)

I'm sorry to say, but I think you're simply asking for too much nowadays.

I've often wondered why more movies don't do this more often. The closest I've ever found would be Monty Oum's Dead Fantasy, though it only lasts about 10 seconds.

Goes from about 2:00 - 2:15

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan has a soundtrack tailored to most specific events during the space scenes, including musical motifs to designate both SHIPS (not specific crew members, the ships) not just orchestra swells.

The two videos I was going to link were removed from Youtube...huh.
Well, the two soundtracks in question are Battle in the Mutara Nebula, and Khan's Surprise Attack.
Definitely watch the movie at least once, then again focusing on the music and the events.

I'm not sure if this counts, but the fight between sly cooper and mz ruby is a video game example (skip to 2:00 to see what I mean)

I am just asking to see if the world of entertaiment actually managed to push at least SOME boundaries.

Apparently it didnt....................good :D

Moar glory for me then if i ever finish my fucking animation for once.

Oh? You've got an animaion on the shelf? Be sure to show it to us when it's done. Since you're a fan of this synchronized fighting jazz, maybe yours will truly show that, no?

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice (claps), quite close to what i described and on a videogame too. Now if only it were more organic like Dig Doug in gameplay rather than being just a seudo-kinda-quicktime-event..

I would recommend Dead Fantasy by Monty Oum. He's stated that he listens to the songs he uses first and then synchronizes the fight scenes to work with the music.

Pretty much any of the Homestuck animations, is probably what you're looking for.

Granted those are animations as opposed to live action which is what I think you're looking for.

Sure, here you go.

A true fight with music.

Other than that, I can't think of any, but I would assume Jackie Chan would have some in his movies.
Looking back at old cartoons, it's interesting how big of dicks the protagonists can be sometimes. o_O
