Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. Back when platformers were a common thing on the PC platform. Infact, I think it might very well have been the first PC game I have ever played.

I was about 10 when I played it. While the gameplay itself wasn't really something unique or extraordinary, there was plenty of variety in enemies and levels and the whole experience was highly engrossing. I particularly loved the music. This track in particular has been ingrained in my mind ever since I played it over a decade ago:

Sid Meier's Covert Action. Now there's a game I'd love to see get a modern-day remake. A little more depth and some pretty graphics, and you could play that thing forever.

Damn Backlash was impossible to control. I loved the Jetpack mech on the other hand.
I actually beat the entire game 100%. Platinum on everything. The backlash skill level wasn't the last one I completed...but it was among them. Something like five buildings in eight seconds. Getting the last rank in the game was the single most satisfying thing I've done on a video game console.

I've seen it mentioned a couple of times (in about 7 years), but Freelancer seems to have slipped from everyone's minds.
You, sir, win. I loved that game XD I finished it several times with a "character" that fit the major "classes" ie; pirate, "loyalist" and "truckie" was soo much win.

Rise of Nations. Such an underated RTS. It might even be my allt ime favorite game. But no one else cares.
Yes! Although I'm not sure I had the same one as you, I played Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends.

As for mine it would the Zone of the Enders games. So, so fucking good! It was Japanese anime action to it's core, which isn't my thing but for Zone of the Enders, I will always make an exception.
Yeah Rise of Legends was the fantasy based one, he's probably talking about the original which was based on real world history. I had them both and they were both awesome its too bad my computer crashed and erased them because I lost the damn product keys years ago.

Silent Bomber.

Ignore the boxart. The game itself was actually pretty fun and addicting.
That and the main character was voiced by the dude who did Might Guy in Naruto.

Disciples 2. The game is pretty much never brought up in any turn-based strategy discussion, typically because the acclaimed HOMM series sold a bit better...

Also, Anachronox

...

Did I mention Warhammer40,000: Fire Warrior?

...

How about Sylpheed: The Lost Planet

...

Allright, allright, how about MS Saga?
Warhammer40,000: Fire Warrior was a great game, ok it was kinda shit but i enjoyed it cause i gotta go the Tau

Mystical Ninja Staring Goemon that game was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time before Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was made. Plus it had giant robot battles, multiple characters, and a chain pipe. I'd totally recommend it if you have an N64 and don't have an irrational fear of the Japanese.

Do you think you have a game no one seems to remember but you? So tell your game. If someone has heard of it, tell them what type of game it is and whats it about. Then confirm whether there right. Lets see how many games people really have never heard of other than you.
FYI: Do not make up a game. It must exist. and no looking the game up.

Mine is Knife edge.
Oh man, I love Knife Edge NoseGunner, still have it, and still have never been able to get the full four people on it at once.

I've got 2 picks. Imperium Galactica and Giants: Citizen Kabuto. This thread is a total nostalgia fest though, so many games I'd forgotten about. :D

EDIT: Oh, a third and fourth. Flashback, and Arcanum: of steamworks and magicks obscura. (though a lot of people have heard of the fourth one because it's got (or had) a significant cult following.

EDIT EDIT: Oh, and to the guy who said 'Chaos engine'... Bitmap bros at their finest. I was playing that not too long ago, with my faithful scientist/navvy combo. :D And now the music is caught in my head.

Parasite Eve - I thought it was OK but I didn't finish it.
R6 PS1 was cool
Tactics Advance was way too easy for me.

I'll say Chrono Cross, much better than Trigger, cool battles and colorful. Amazing game.
BLASPHEMY!!! Lol j/k.

Legend of Legaia, an RPG where you would use the directional buttons in the battle system to unlock more moves. When your turn for attacks came up you would hit up up down down and you could unlock an attack. It was a good game I thought and introduced me to the wonderful world of JRPG's

Never played Return to Krondor, but I still have fond memories of Betrayal at Krondor. All those Summer days wasted sitting in the basement with my brother and solving Moredhel chests and making fun of Owyn.

There's this really indie FPS that no one seems to know about, it's called...something silly I can hardly remember... Modern Warefare 2 I believe.
